Chapter 21
Ten minutes later, the guest room door opened. The light inside spilled through the doorway, stretching Shen Yi's shadow. He went to Fu Yuhe's door, and it opened after just one knock. There was no one inside.
He waited at the door for a few seconds. Just as he was about to return to his room, he heard a glass hit the floor downstairs. He stopped and changed direction.
Fu Yuhe was lying on the sofa on the first floor, one arm hanging down to the floor. He wore a bathrobe, loosely tied, its neckline wide open, offering glimpses of the skin from his collarbones to his chest.
The lights wound around the stairs were still on, their faint glow reaching this part of the room.
Shen Yi placed the box on the coffee table and crouched down, gazing at the sleeping man's face.
Fu Yuhe's features were handsome, his contours sharp as if carved with a knife. His eyes were deep and dark when open, but now that they were closed, he looked a little... a little more like Fu Cheng's brother.
His powerful presence made it easy for people to overlook his handsome face.
As if he were sleeping uncomfortably, Fu Yuhe frowned. Shen Yi raised a hand and held it above his forehead. A moment later, his fingertips settled gently on Fu Yuhe's forehead. Then his wrist was seized.
"You've been looking for so long. What did you see?" Fu Yuhe's voice was low and husky, his eyes still closed.
Shen Yi said, "You look good."
Fu Yuhe's lashes trembled, and he opened his eyes. His bottomless gaze fixed on Shen Yi for a few seconds before he released his hand. The corner of his mouth lifted as he asked in a subdued tone, "Good enough for you to come all the way downstairs to look?"
"Of course not," Shen Yi said. "I just forgot to give you your present."
Fu Yuhe said, "Oh?"
He sat up, and the neckline of his bathrobe fell open a little wider. Fu Yuhe didn't notice. He looked at the "present" on the table. "What is it?"
Shen Yi opened the present, took it out, and showed him how it worked. It wasn't completely dark here, but the projected starry sky was still beautiful.
"Happy birthday," Shen Yi said.
Fu Yuhe looked away, his gaze falling on Shen Yi's well-defined fingers, which seemed strong. His Adam's apple bobbed as he recalled, at an inopportune moment, how Shen Yi's wrist had felt earlier.
"Why did you give me this?" he asked casually.
"Hmm..." Shen Yi thought for a moment and said, "Because I wanted to look at the stars with you, I guess."
Fu Yuhe paused, his gaze growing much deeper in an instant. He caught the key point in those words: looking at the stars with him. Did he mean he wanted to sleep in his bed?
Heh, so full of tricks.
Keeping his expression neutral, he said, "What makes you think I'd look at them with you?"
He wasn't so easy to seduce, and he didn't sleep with people casually. What made Shen Yi think he would sleep with him?
"Brother Fu." Shen Yi leaned forward.
Fu Yuhe didn't move. He wanted to see what Shen Yi intended to do.
Shen Yi raised a hand, placed it on Fu Yuhe's shoulder over his bathrobe, and pushed him backward. Fu Yuhe's eyes darkened slightly, and he yielded to the push, returning to his previous position on the sofa. He raised a hand, about to seize the hand causing trouble.
Shen Yi withdrew his hand first, pulled out a cushion, and sat down beside the sofa.
"See? Now we're looking at them together," he said, a little smugly.
Chapter 10: Kissing
The reflection of a galaxy flowed faintly across the wall. Fu Yuhe lay on the sofa and blinked blankly. Only then did he come to his senses and realize what Shen Yi had done and said.
Fu Yuhe felt a knot of frustration in his chest.
His hand paused, then settled on his abdomen.
Was he doing it on purpose again?
A dark gleam seemed to flicker in Fu Yuhe's dark eyes, and he felt a little irritated. He lightly licked his lips. He had drunk alcohol that night and come downstairs for water because he was thirsty, but the water didn't seem to have helped much.
He lowered his eyes, concealing the dark gleam in them. "I warned you."
Hearing Fu Yuhe's voice, Shen Yi turned his head. "About what?"
"Looks like you didn't listen," Fu Yuhe murmured.
"Listen to what?" Shen Yi found the exchange utterly baffling, but his mouth had already parted ways with his brain. "Brother Fu, I'm very obedient. How would I dare not listen to you?"
"Are you?" The two words carried an eerie chill.
Shen Yi said, "Of course."
The next second, the man on the sofa propped up his upper body on his elbow. His head grew increasingly muddled as the alcohol went to it, and Shen Yi's earlier, almost "flirtatious" behavior had thoroughly angered Fu Yuhe, leaving him with almost no desire to hide how he felt.
"Fu..."
Shen Yi opened his mouth, but he had barely begun to speak when the man rolled off the sofa and pinned him down, cutting him off. A dull thud sounded in the living room.
An adult man's weight was no small thing. Fortunately, Shen Yi had moved back a little, so Fu Yuhe's knee landed on the cushion instead of striking him in a vital spot.
Fu Yuhe was wearing a bathrobe, and when he leaned over, Shen Yi's position gave him the best view.
Fu Yuhe grabbed Shen Yi by the collar and braced himself with one hand on the floor. He asked softly, "Hmm? What did you want to say?"
Shen Yi felt a little thirsty.
"I didn't... want to say anything," he said.
Fu Yuhe said, "Why can't your mouth find the words now?"
Shen Yi said, "..."
Fu Yuhe moved the hand gripping his collar to his face and pinched his chin. "Go on."
Shen Yi wore a casual black T-shirt, and his freshly washed and blow-dried hair fell messily across his forehead, giving him a relaxed, at-home look. The similar scene suddenly brought an image to Fu Yuhe's mind: the first time Shen Yi had come to his home, when Fu Yuhe had spoken to him for the first time.
Shen Yi had been naked from the waist up, then had put on Fu Yuhe's clothes.
Fu Yuhe hadn't paid it much attention at the time, but now it abruptly came back to him. It had been raining that day, rain pattering against the window, the air cool and damp. The young man had stood in his room, his freshly washed hair still wet. A drop of water had fallen from the tips of his black hair and slipped down his chin, running from his smooth, delicate jaw to his neck before disappearing into the collar of the black T-shirt.
