Background / History

Fu Yuhe grew up in a wealthy family. His parents died in a car accident while he was still in high school, leaving him, his younger brother Fu Cheng, and a substantial inheritance. His aunts pressured and coaxed him to surrender his inherited shares, but he recognized their intentions and prevented them from profiting from him 1 43.

He subsequently balanced protecting the family assets, attending university, starting a business, and raising Fu Cheng. A college friend later blamed him for losses on a joint project. Repeated exploitation hardened his outlook, and his ruthless methods earned him a reputation for being cold and heartless 1 16.

Although his career became successful, work continued to consume much of his time. He and Fu Cheng depended on each other, but their household settled into a pattern of Fu Yuhe giving instructions and Fu Cheng obeying. Their difficulty expressing affection left a distance between them 16.

In the original plot shown to Shen Yi, Fu Cheng is kidnapped after his college entrance examinations to threaten Fu Yuhe, then dies accidentally during the kidnapping. Birthday and Growing Attraction

Fu Cheng and Shen Yi prepare a birthday celebration at the villa, including a homemade cake, food, and a violin performance. Fu Yuhe joins them despite the lingering awkwardness from his argument with Fu Cheng 19 20.
