Zhang Xuezhou bought a haunted house, took up his post at the Yang Mausoleum, and became entangled in the court’s struggle over the emperor’s tomb. The story then shifted to Zhang Xuezhou and his companions trapped by a giant beast, ending as they heard heavy footsteps approach through an underground water channel.

• Zhang Xuezhou used Wang Fugui’s fear of a demonic presence to bargain for the Old Tree Alley residence, then moved in with Rong Tianding and let Lu Baibai hide in a water-filled barrel.
• Zhang Xuezhou reported to the Yang Mausoleum as Dongfang Shuo, investigated its tomb robbers, and entered the burial complex, where he found Spirit Jade beneath Emperor Jing’s coffin but left it untouched.
• Jin Chang agreed to clear named intruders from the mausoleum for three months in exchange for Zhang Xuezhou finding Emperor Jing’s coffin, while the grand empress dowager and the new emperor began investigating the intruder.

After further clashes over the jade and Montes Ganghao, the group headed toward Huli Port, where Mengtesi Badun tried to recruit Zhou Xin for a mission near Qinmeng Imperial City.

• Montes Arthur’s team hunted exotic beasts until a Ferocious Beast hyena injured Batia, and Montes Arthur took a third dose of X864 before pursuing it.
• Montes Arthur’s impaired judgment led his team into danger, and Zhang Xuezhou helped them escape the hyena and a giant Ferocious Beast bird by drawing the predators into conflict.
• Zhang Xuezhou retrieved a blue crystal from the abandoned truck, then brought the injured survivors and their captured beasts back to Ludan Port.
