Su Ming used his cross-world magic and White Bone’s power to transform the tower into a ship and escape the Temple of Light. After the battle left White Bone ill, Su Ming discovered that police suspected him of Miao Xin’s death and began investigating the crash.

• Su Ming crossed into another world with Galio, inherited necromancy and a White Bone Mark, and learned that the Temple of Light had surrounded the tower.
• Su Ming discovered he could transfer objects between worlds and used the ability to obtain the tools and machinery needed to build a ship.
• Su Ming and White Bone converted the Tower of White Bone into the Zhiyuan and escaped beneath the cliff as the Temple’s attacks failed to stop them.
• Su Ming drove the Zhiyuan through the Pearl Duchy fleet while White Bone fought off pursuing spellcasters, and Russell appeared to strike Stanton into the sea.
• White Bone fell ill after the battle, and Su Ming realized he had brought Earth’s pathogens into her body and treated her with medicine.

Su Ming and Zijin healed, outfitted, and navigated the Zhiyuan while escaping fleets sent after Zijin. After breaking through the interception, they met Charles Kegan, who asked them to help investigate a deadly sea monster in exchange for resources and a pause in the pursuit.

• Su Ming fused Miao Xin with Little Spiky Head, escaped the police, and reached Pine Mountain Sanatorium Hospital to find medicine for White Bone.
• Su Ming treated White Bone until she recovered, and she revealed her real name was Zijin and explained that Scholar Bay Owl, the White Bone Fortress, and Zijin were parts of her identity.
• Su Ming and Zijin equipped the Zhiyuan with radar, a tethered balloon, and bone sails, then discovered that multiple fleets were closing in on them because Zijin had taken the Divine Favor Scepter.
• Su Ming and Zijin fought off the Temple’s attackers and escaped the interception, defeating the UFO and damaging the Fusang while keeping their crews alive.
• After the battle, Zijin began repairing the White Bone Fortress while Su Ming planned upgrades to the Zhiyuan and searched for a secondhand steamship.
• Charles Kegan arrived on behalf of the Four Directions Chamber of Commerce and presented reports about a tentacled sea creature that had sunk more than thirty ships.

Su Ming and Zijin investigated clues linking the sea monster to Earth and rebuilt their vessel for the hunt using equipment taken from an Earth naval base. With Xiwo aboard as an observer and technical adviser, they located the monster and began searching its territory with a decoy ship.

• Su Ming recognized Arabic numerals in the sea monster drawings, and he and Zijin agreed to investigate them for clues about space.
• Su Ming defeated four mercenaries who ambushed them, and Zijin suspected sabotage after a hidden alchemy bomb was discovered.
• Su Ming and Zijin obtained supplies and anchored near an uninhabited island to refit the Zhiyuan.
• Zijin explained her dependence on the White Bone Fortress, and Su Ming gained insight into the Space Element and became a Junior Magus.

Su Ming and his companions hunted sea monsters, uncovered a necromantic plot, and fought Yexiya aboard the Five Fangs. After the battle, they treated their injuries, repaired the White Triangle, and resumed their work as Zijin reflected on who she had become.

• Zijin lured a sea monster to a decoy ship and survived its attack, then Su Ming stopped her bleeding with an injectable hemostatic.
• Su Ming’s group continued trapping sea monsters, discovered undead rune brands on their tentacles, and Zijin began developing a spell to reverse their zombification.
• Su Ming sent Miao Xin to sabotage the Dahlgren Test Center, steal the Mark 71’s records and equipment, and help him take the artillery gun.
• At Clear Spring Reef, pirates and zombie sea monsters ambushed the White Triangle, but Su Ming, Zijin, and Xiwo escaped the bay and destroyed two Wasp-class warships.
• Yexiya attacked the White Triangle from a semisubmersible, and Su Ming, Zijin, and Xiwo fought her until his modified bullet and their combined attacks weakened her.
• Su Ming freed Beianqi aboard the Five Fangs and temporarily restored the crew’s intelligence so they could repair the ship and fire its cannons at Yexiya.
• Su Ming used a summoned heroic marksman to shoot Yexiya, then rescued Zijin and treated her wounds while she transferred Yexiya’s magic seal onto him.
• After recovering, Su Ming and Zijin repaired the White Triangle and began assembling the Mark 71, while Miao Xin found bodies that Su Ming could use for Comprehend Languages, and Zijin asked him about her identity.
