Biology and Appearance
Orcs are physically formidable humanoids. Sussex Kingdom orc warriors are described as approximately two meters tall; in direct contests of strength, Gnolls of an equivalent level generally lose to Orcs. 77 229
- Their strength makes them valued frontline soldiers and heavy-weapon users. 229
- Orcs lack darkvision and are poorly adapted to the Underdark, limiting their suitability for subterranean campaigns. 160
- Many Orc forces fight as wolf cavalry, raising Prairie Wolves from youth and forming close combat partnerships with their mounts. 77
Culture and Society
Orc culture prizes personal honor, directness, and strength. Grem Stone Hammer states that an Orc's word is binding, while the Stone Hammer Tribe rejects slavery as an insult to an Orc warrior's honor. 112
- Concealing one's face is regarded as dishonorable behavior in Orc culture. 95
- Among the Northern Great Plains tribes, many Orcs are nomadic herders who also sell hides and pelts; some turn to banditry when an opportunity arises. 201
- Orcs commonly favor force over negotiation when confronting an unfair demand, reflecting the belief that what cannot be won with strength cannot be gained through words. 112
- The Orcs of the Northern Great Plains descend from populations left behind after the Orc–human struggle for continental dominance. Their ancestral Orc Empire remains a symbol of former glory and a long-held aspiration for many plains tribes. 111
Military
Orc Warriors
Orcs are primarily employed as professional warriors in the Sussex Kingdom, where they guard borders, protect trade routes, and suppress banditry. 229
- Standard troops can wear leather armor, carry sabers, bows, and quivers, and patrol on dire wolves in organized formations. 201
- Orc wolf cavalry are recruited through formal assessments; native prairie clans may join the force and gain Sussex citizenship through service. 208
- Orc army formations use linked shield walls, specialized gate-breaking tools, catapults, and shamanic support such as Guardian Totem, Healing Totem, and Bloodlust. 234 237
Wolf Cavalry
Orc wolf cavalry ride Prairie Wolves, which are larger than the Forest Wolves used by Gnolls. 77
- Riders and wolves are raised, hunt, fight, and grow together from a young age, creating a highly coordinated partnership. 77
- Cavalry units are well suited to long-distance patrols and rapid movement across open grasslands. 208
- Yamo White Wolf became a formal Sussex citizen after passing the wolf-cavalry assessment. 208
Orc Specialists
Orcs can produce powerful professional combatants and spellcasters.
- Grem Stonehammer became the first Legendary expert of the Sussex Kingdom and later served as commander of the militarized fortress territory of Kerrigan Morgan. 216 402
- Monk Flame Howl is a Legendary Orc Mage, founder and ruler of Fire Howl City. 175
- The Oloba Orc Empire possesses legendary warriors, shamans, mages, rangers, and an Orc Sword Saint who later reached demigod level. 180 387 417
Major Communities
Northern Great Plains Tribes
The Black Crow Orcs are one of the three notable medium-sized tribes of the Triangle Plains, alongside the Graytail Centaurs and Stonefang Boarmen. 35
The Stone Hammer Tribe fought alongside the native alliance against Jose's forces. After its defeat, Chieftain Grem Stone Hammer agreed to become Jose's Familiar in exchange for halving the tribe's war debt. 112
- The tribe was relocated to former Brownskin Boarmen territory and supplied with food, weapons, armor, warrior training, Qi cultivation, and secret techniques. 114
- These measures brought the Stone Hammer Orcs fully under Jose's authority, even beyond Grem's personal command. 114
Sussex Kingdom and Empire
Orcs became one of the Sussex Kingdom's principal warrior races. Their ceremonial contingent displayed armored heavy infantry and fully equipped wolf cavalry during the kingdom's founding celebration. 229

Oloba Orc Empire
On the small material plane of Oloba, Orcs are the dominant race. The Oloba Orc Empire rules most of the continent, having driven Elves into migration and confined humans to remote territories. 182
- The empire is ruled by an Orc Emperor and maintains numerous Legendary powerhouses. 232
- It formed an equal contractual alliance with Jose after negotiations through Monk Flame Howl. 183 232
- During the war against the Beastslayer Alliance, the empire used its numerical advantage to capture Bloodthorn Fortress, advance through the human kingdoms, and ultimately conquer Beacon City. 234 240
Fire Howl City
Fire Howl City was founded by Monk Flame Howl 132 years before Jose's visit. 175

History
During the Fourth Era, Orcs and humans fought for continental hegemony. The Orcs lost, surrendered extensive territory, and were driven west beyond the Sunset Mountains; survivors who could not retreat either hid in remote lands or fled to regions such as the Northern Great Plains. 111
The Stone Hammer Tribe's defeat in the Triangle Plains marked a major change for the local Orcs. Facing crippling reparations, Grem Stone Hammer accepted Jose's Familiar Contract, after which the tribe was armed, trained, relocated, and integrated into Jose's expanding forces. 112 114
Under the Sussex Kingdom, Orcs developed from scattered tribal warriors into an organized military arm responsible for border defense, trade-route security, and anti-bandit operations. Their contribution was publicly recognized during the founding ceremony in Oka City. 201 229
Jose's alliance with Monk Flame Howl connected the Sussex Kingdom to the Oloba Orc Empire. Jose later served as a contracted reinforcement during the Oloba Empire's war against the Beastslayer Alliance, contributing to the Empire's victory in exchange for magical knowledge and other rewards. 232 240
As Tydanore entered a period of instability, the Orc Sword Saint arranged for the wider Orc race to relocate gradually to a territory granted by the Hundred Beast Alliance on a large material plane. 461
