Cosmology
Plane Barrier and Demigod Capacity
Tydanore's plane barrier resists the entry of foreign Demigods, alerting native powers and giving them time to react. Demigods native to Tydanore can return more easily, likened to children returning to their mother. 310
| Subject | Details |
|---|---|
| Plane classification | Medium material plane 116 |
| Demigod capacity | One account sets the limit at five, while later accounts identify six available slots. Exceeding the plane's capacity risks its collapse. 116 250 310 |
| Foreign entry | Foreign Demigods face planar resistance and can be detected by native Demigods. 116 310 |
| Vacant slots | A Demigod's departure or death can open a slot, which may be filled by another qualified being. 250 310 417 |
| Collapse consequence | Any Demigod responsible for collapsing a plane would face punishment regardless of alignment. 116 |
During the Red Nest era, Tydanore's six slots were occupied by Moorlin, the Mermaid Sovereign, the Gloomy Forest Elf King, the Misty Forest Elf King, an Orc Demigod, and the Red Nest Matriarch Savannah. 310
The Eternal Night Monarch secretly filled the slot left by Savannah after her earlier defeat and exile, remaining hidden within Tydanore for decades before revealing himself. 250 310
Power System
| Rank | Description |
|---|---|
| Novice | Beginning stage of professional power. |
| Intermediate | Second stage of Tydanore's professional system. |
| Advanced | Third stage of professional power. |
| Master | High mortal stage; Master-level practitioners remain mortal. 385 394 |
| Legendary | Achieved by comprehending a Law, connecting one's spirit to the Source Sea, and receiving its baptism. Legendary Mages may live up to a thousand years. 385 394 |
| Demigod | Tydanore's highest sustainable native rank; Demigods may live up to ten thousand years. 385 394 |
Tydanore's system is not universal. The Astral Plane more broadly classifies power as Transcendent, Legendary, Demigod, and God-Fiend. 394
History
Early Eras
The First Era began over twelve thousand years ago, when Tydanore was a primitive and chaotic world inhabited by native creatures and star-faring migrants such as dragons. Numerous adult and Legendary races fought for survival across the continent. 200
During the Second Era, roughly seven to twelve thousand years ago, dragons rose above other transcendent races through their numbers and Dragon Heritage, dominating the continent. 200
Around five thousand years ago, the declining Elven Dynasty fractured into civil war. The resulting death and conflict attracted devils from the Nine Hells, who manipulated numerous races into corruption. The Huma, ancestors of the centaurs, were among those who fell. 28
Red Nest Conflict and Its Aftermath
Savannah's defeat in the Red Nest conflict left a Demigod slot open, but it was filled before foreign Demigods could enter Tydanore. The identity of the infiltrator was later revealed as the Eternal Night Monarch. 250 310
Savannah later returned to Tydanore after ambushing and wounding an Evil God attempting to force its way through the plane barrier. She chose to seize the opportunity to re-enter the plane rather than pursue the fleeing god. 310
The Baator Contest
The Lord of the Nine Hells sought to transform Tydanore into a tenth layer of Hell. After the Crow-Type God-Fiend captured Tydanore's Demigods, Jose called for a Divine Descent by the God of Light and Justice, who subdued and sealed the God-Fiend in an auxiliary demiplane. 415
The God of Light and Justice then established a competition between Tydanore and Baator Hell:
- The winning side receives Tydanore and the Four Elemental Gems. 416
- The losing side must surrender its claim to both the plane and the gems; Tydanore's people would be relocated if their side loses. 416
- Each side may use ten external supporters no stronger than Demigods. 416
- Points are earned by killing powerful Devils or through military merits on the Blood War battlefield. 416
- Tydanore's major powers selected the first day of a future New Year as the contest's formal starting date, using the preceding years to prepare portals, armies, intelligence networks, and anti-devil knowledge. 417
Regions
| Region | Description |
|---|---|
| Northern Lands | Region containing the Northern Great Plains, Gloomy Forest, Red Nest Lair, Moduo Peak Forest, and the Sussex Empire's core territories. 116 250 397 |
| Red Nest Lair | A major Underdark region formerly associated with the Red Nest; later incorporated into the Sussex Empire's northern domain. 116 397 |
| Gloomy Forest | Homeland of the Moon Elves, whose political position declined after the death of the Moon Elf King. 250 311 |
| Storm Sea / Storm Strait | A region rich in wind elemental energy; allowing the Crow-Type God-Fiend to reach it would have enabled it to grow beyond Tydanore's defenders. 414 |
| Lost Continent | A distant land connected to Tydanore by high-level teleportation methods. 411 413 |
| Underdark | Vast subterranean territories inhabited by Drow, Gray Dwarves, Kuo-toa, troglodytes, monsters, and former Red Nest forces. 116 160 161 173 |
Peoples and Civilizations

Four Elemental Gems
The Four Elemental Gems are exceptional treasures tied to Tydanore's future, Demigod advancement, and control of the plane. 337 414 416
| Elemental Gem | Known Details |
|---|---|
| Fire Heart / Heart of Blazing Flames | Originally held by Savannah, later taken by the Church of Justice; Jose ultimately exchanged the Earth Heart for it. 250 416 |
| Ocean Heart / Heart of the Ocean | Associated with and held by the Mermaid Empress. 250 |
| Earth Heart | Central to major Demigod conflicts and exchanged by Jose for the Fire Heart. 395 416 |
| Storm Heart | One of the four gems required for full control of Tydanore. 414 492 |
Possession of two Elemental Gems would make the Mermaid Empress potentially unbeatable within Tydanore, even against the other Demigods combined. 395
Jose later installed the Storm, Ocean, and Earth Hearts into corresponding magic towers, allowing him to access Tydanore's elemental channels on a vast scale. 492
