Background / History

Shrek Academy is described as the continent's number one academy. Tang Ya uses the Tang Sect's privilege to secure Huo Yuhao's admission, an opportunity he values deeply. Huo Yuhao later becomes freshman class monitor and forms a martial-soul fusion with Wang Dong 4.

The academy fields a reserve team for the All-Continent Soul Duel Tournament, including Huo Yuhao, Bei Bei, and Xiao Xiao. The team is tasked with monitoring the continent and hunting Evil Soul Masters, but suffers a disastrous ambush shortly after leaving the academy: three official members die, one is severely injured, three are lightly injured, and Huo Yuhao is abducted despite Xuan Lao's protection 45.

During the tournament, Shrek becomes embroiled in accusations of cheating and intelligence gathering. Although it defeats Thousand Spirit Advanced Soul Master Academy with three consecutive victories, spectators boo the team and its members leave the stage in disgrace 53 55. Taotie Douluo later intervenes to save Dai Yueheng during a match, violating tournament rules and provoking widespread protests from rival academies 77.

Shrek ultimately concedes its Soul Duel Tournament match after severe losses. Taotie Douluo promises that the academy will provide Soul Bone compensation to other academies within thirty days 79 80.

Sea God Pavilion

The Sea God Pavilion serves as Shrek Academy's highest leadership body. Its members include Mu En, Xuan Zi, Yan Shaozhe, Song Lao, and other senior figures 121 126.

Exchange Program

Shrek accepts an exchange-student proposal from Mingde Hall that had been pending for six years. The academy initially requests negotiations in Shrek City, but Jing Hongchen insists that talks take place in Mingdu and on Sun Moon Empire terms 101.

Mingde Hall later sends Qin Fang to lead its exchange team to Shrek. The group is granted the status and rights of Inner Courtyard disciples, but their presence creates repeated tensions with Shrek's instructors and students 117 120.

Conflicts

Soul Duel Tournament

Shrek's tournament campaign is marked by injuries, allegations of cheating, and interventions by its senior protectors. After the reserve team is ambushed, Huo Yuhao is unable to participate for a period because Ice Empress's emergency possession leaves him unable to use Soul Power or Spiritual Power for at least half a month 45.

The academy's reputation deteriorates after Qin Fang and Old Ma publicly accuse it of cheating. The Star Luo Emperor permits Shrek to remain in the tournament, but imposes restrictions on Huo Yuhao and establishes penalties involving forfeited prizes or Soul Bone compensation 53 54.

Shrek's single-elimination run ends when Taotie Douluo concedes after Qin Fang kills He Caitou and reveals the power of his Skeleton Emperor martial soul 79 80.

Siege of Shrek Academy

Following Qin Fang's apparent death at Mu En's hands, Mingde Hall, the Holy Spirit Sect, and the Body Sect converge on Shrek Academy. Jing Hongchen threatens Shrek City with six activated Rank 9 Fixed Soul Cannons, demanding an explanation for Qin Fang's death 137.

Xuan Zi rallies Shrek's Titled Douluo under the declaration that the conflict is a “Day of Purging Evil.” More than forty Titled Douluo, including Sea God Pavilion elders, join the battle, though other members are absent on missions or guarding locations such as the Treasure Pavilion and Library Pavilion 138.

Shrek issues its distress signal, drawing support from former students and hidden Titled Douluo living in Shrek City. The academy's broad influence is attributed to having trained an estimated sixty to seventy percent of the Titled Douluo across the Three Great Empires 138 139.

The fighting concludes with concessions. Shrek agrees to provide twenty Soul Bones each to the Body Sect and Holy Spirit Sect and permits copying of the Library Pavilion 140.

Shrek City's Destruction

Shrek later uses the auction of a Clear Sky Sect God Position as bait to lure Qin Fang to Shrek City 193. The event attracts an overwhelming influx of nobles, wealthy visitors, and soul masters, leaving the city unable to accommodate the crowds 197.

During the ensuing Beast Tide and attack, Qin Fang deploys a Rank 10 Soul Tool Cannon through a rift from the Undead Plane. The blast devastates Shrek City and Academy, killing more than 130 of Shrek's over 200 Titled Douluo; the survivors gather around Xuan Zi to endure the aftermath 201.

Mu En's earlier preparations allow nearly one hundred Shrek teachers and students to survive by being dispersed throughout the four empires. These remnants go into hiding while harboring hatred toward the Body Sect, Holy Spirit Sect, Mingde Hall, and the Sun Moon Empire 206.
