Reviews and Comments

Rating, reviewing, and commenting are separate actions; you can do any combination of them on the same novel. Paragraph comments work a little differently from chapter comments, covered further down.

Rating a novel#

On a novel page, select Good, Neutral, or Bad to rate it. Select the same rating again to remove it. Your rating contributes to the novel's rating percentage, shown as "Based on N reader ratings".

Rating is separate from writing a review. You can do either, both, or neither.

Writing and editing a review#

1. On a novel page, select Write a Review.
2. Write your review, optionally attach one GIF, and select Submit.
3. Select the pencil icon on your review to edit it later, update the text, and select Submit again.

Reviews support the same GIFs, formatting, mentions, and spoiler tags described below.

GIFs#

Select GIF in the formatting toolbar to search and attach a GIF to a review, comment, or reply. You can attach one GIF per post.

Replies and likes#

Select Reply under a review or comment to respond; replies are threaded one level deep. Select View (N) to expand replies and Hide (N) to collapse them.

Select the heart icon to like a review, comment, or reply; select it again to remove your like.

Chapter comments#

While reading a chapter, select Write a Comment to post a comment on the chapter, or Reply under an existing comment.

Paragraph comments#

You can also comment on a specific paragraph:

• On mobile, double-tap the paragraph.
• On desktop, right-click the paragraph, or hover it and use the handle that appears.

Select Comment on paragraph from the menu that appears. The dialog quotes the paragraph you selected; write your comment and select Post. It's posted as a regular chapter comment with the paragraph quoted above it.

Mentions#

Type @ in any review, comment, or reply to search for a user and mention them, or select the @ icon in the toolbar. Choose a user from the results to insert the mention. You can mention up to 5 users in one post. Mentioning a user notifies them, and the mention still points to the right person even if they later change their username.

Formatting#

The formatting toolbar wraps your selected text with markdown:

Spoiler tags#

Wrap text in double bars, ||like this||, to hide it behind a masked block. Readers tap or click the masked text to reveal it.

Reporting a comment or review#

Select the flag icon on any comment, reply, or review to report it.

• Reporting a comment or reply gives you quick reasons: Spam or advertising, Harassment or abuse, Spoilers, Off-topic, Inappropriate content, plus a text field to add detail.
• Reporting a review or a review reply uses a text field only; describe the issue and select Report.

You can post up to 20 comments and 20 reports a day.

What gets removed#

If a moderator removes a review, comment, or reply, it's deleted outright. There's no placeholder left behind.
