Dealings with Akatsuki

At the Five Kage Summit, the Raikage accused Iwagakure, Konohagakure, Sunagakure, and Kirigakure of having both produced Akatsuki rogue ninja and used Akatsuki's services during earlier wars 231. The Tsuchikage later stated that Iwagakure had hired Akatsuki more often than any other village 236 289.

Allied Shinobi Forces

Faced with Akatsuki's possession of at least seven Tailed Beasts, Iwagakure agreed that forming the Allied Shinobi Forces was necessary 236. Its representatives subsequently participated in the alliance's war planning and force deployments 245 249.

Kitsuchi of Iwagakure was selected to command the Allied Shinobi Forces' Second Division on the land route 249.
