Background / History
Enel ruled Sky Island as its self-proclaimed God, relying on the Rumble-Rumble Fruit and Mantra to maintain an image of invincibility. He dismissed the Shandians and Cifer’s group as challengers unworthy of his attention, ordering only weak divine guards to oppose them. 30 31
His certainty collapsed after Hina struck him with Armament Haki and Cifer effortlessly destroyed his lightning techniques. Enel survived Cifer’s Cero Oscuras only because the electrical current revived his heart, then was defeated again after transforming into the Thunder God. 31 32
Following his defeat, Enel saw the relief and happiness of Sky Island’s people through Mantra. Cifer offered him neither slavery nor pity, but the opportunity to learn what a god should do. Enel accepted, joining Cifer’s crew to become a “qualified god.” 32 33
Appearance
Enel is a winged Sky Islander with notably long ears. He commonly carries golden tonfa and presents himself with an overtly regal, godlike bearing. 238 260
- Long ears.
- Sky Island wings.
- Usually armed with a golden tonfa, which can be reshaped into the Thunder God’s Halberd. 73 98
- Uses taiko drums to produce several lightning techniques. 31
Personality
Enel is theatrical, arrogant, and deeply attached to calling himself a god. He expects fear and reverence from others, often mocking opponents as “foolish” or “ignorant” before defeating them. 39 136 291
His defeat by Cifer forces him to confront the difference between power and godhood. Although he retains his grandiose mannerisms, he comes to associate being a god with protecting people rather than simply ruling them. He takes visible satisfaction in liberating oppressed civilians and being sincerely thanked for it. 32 39
He is fiercely competitive and measures himself against Cifer, refusing to accept defeat as final. Even after repeated losses in training, he immediately seeks another challenge and openly states his ambition to one day surpass his captain. 99 138
Away from battle, Enel can be playful and childish. He fights Cifer and Chopper over food, enjoys caring for children, and is comfortable enough with his companions to drop some of his usual distance. 65 127
Abilities & Skills
Rumble-Rumble Fruit
Enel is a Logia user who can create, control, and become lightning. His elemental body grants extreme mobility and makes ordinary attacks pass through him. 31 39
- Uses lightning-speed movement and elementalization to evade attacks. 31 292
- Generates techniques ranging from 10–30 Million Volt Discharges to 200 Million Volt attacks. 31 74 99

- Manipulates electricity and magnetism to control bodies through their magnetic fields and draw surrounding metal into magnetic storms. 147 177
- Luffy’s rubber body is immune to Enel’s lightning, forcing Enel to rely on speed, Haki, and physical combat. 74
Mantra / Observation Haki
Enel’s Mantra was his defining ability before leaving Sky Island. It allows him to detect presences, perceive intended attacks, and monitor wide areas. 31 74
- Detects Cifer’s group before they enter his temple. 31
- Dodges Luffy’s attacks by reading his intentions. 74

Conqueror’s Haki
Enel possesses all three forms of Haki, including Conqueror’s Haki. 143
- Releases an overwhelming aura during his battle with Kizaru. 138
- Uses Conqueror’s Haki against Cross Guild forces, causing infighting and widespread casualties. 291
- His Haki, speed, and Devil Fruit power are considered sufficient to battle an Admiral for more than a thousand exchanges without a decisive result. 143
Lightning Metallurgy
Enel uses intense lightning and heat to reshape his golden weapon during combat. 98 130
- Transforms his Golden Tonfa into the Thunder God’s Halberd. 98
- Forms twin halberds to fight Garin and Gorm simultaneously. 261
- Channels lightning and magnetism through the halberd for Thunder Magnetic Storm. 177 261
Lightning Eye and Raiho Body
Lightning Eye enhances Enel’s perception, while the 200 Million Volt Raiho Body covers him in lightning hardened like armor. 99
- Raises his speed to the point that even Cifer is surprised by his improvement. 99
- Lets him nearly keep pace with Cifer’s movements while using Mantra. 99
- Allows him to match Kizaru’s speed and power during their clash. 138
- The Raiho Body is powerful but can be shattered by Cifer’s direct strike. 99
Bankai: Katen Kyokotsu
Enel activates his Bankai after discovering that ordinary attacks cannot permanently kill the regenerative Knights of God. 261
- Covers the battlefield in oppressive Spiritual Pressure and transforms the terrain into a theatrical domain. 262
- Causes synchronized pain and blood loss among the Knights of God. 262
- Act II: Shameful Bed further traps and torments its targets. 262
- Act III: The Sunken Fish Abyss turns the area into a dark, freezing body of water where opponents panic and cannot escape. 263
- Kills Gorm, Garin, and Mare with a water stream; their bodies turn to ash. 263
