Purple was the splendor of the stars above all under heaven, and so it was noble.
Elephant was the multitude of the encompassing heavens, standing before all laws, and so it was weighty.
Jade was the foremost of rare treasures, the king of myriad jewels, and so it was revered.
The Purple Elephant Jade Palace was the mansion of the supremely revered and supremely noble, the supremely pure and supremely high; it was the hub that governed the great thousand worlds and shepherded the myriad nations.
This was the palace of the Great Emperor Ziwei, Supreme Exalted Taihuang of the Ten Thousand Stars of the Central Heaven.
And Great Emperor Ziwei had long since fallen at the hands of the Golden Palace Heavenly Emperor ten thousand years ago. All his authority had passed to the Golden Palace Heavenly Emperor, creating the present Supreme Golden Palace Divine Sovereign Heavenly Emperor, True Saint Taiyi Who Opened Heaven and Ruled the Cosmos with Myriad Daos.
Yet although Great Emperor Ziwei had fallen, although the Ziwei Jade Tablet that symbolized his authority and identity had shattered into three pieces, and even the Purple Elephant Jade Palace had sunk into chaos, the Ziwei lineage had not sunk with it.
