Lucifer Carlos seized control of the Mike Family, then traveled to Maglin Island and learned that the John Family had targeted him. After killing John Dilton and buying a sniper rifle, he planned to frame the John Family by assassinating a World Government official.

• Lucifer Carlos joined the Mike Family, stole its Devil Fruit, and killed Patriarch Mike Moxie before exploiting the succession struggle to rise in the ranks.
• Carlos assassinated Mike Henry, then allied with Noah and killed Mike Klin, Carlton, and other leaders to take control of the Mike Family.
• Carlos ordered the Mike Family’s remaining members eliminated, seized its mansion, and prepared for retaliation from the John Family.
• After John Family assassins attacked his convoy, Carlos traveled secretly toward Maglin Island, where he fought off the Mad Bull Pirates and defeated their captain, Olsen.

Carlos built his strength and alliances while Roger’s execution ushered in a new age of piracy. After clashing with Doflamingo in Loguetown, Carlos returned to Iron Island to prepare for the John Family’s impending attack and investigate a possible threat from the Lord’s Mansion.

• Carlos assassinated the World Government official visiting Maglin Island, escaped with Gretel Kelly, and later uncovered and punished Kilan Cani for betraying his whereabouts.
• Carlos strengthened the Lucifer Family through combat training, then spent five months cultivating before traveling toward the East Blue as news broke that the Marines had captured Roger.
• Carlos crossed the Red Line with Kamui, witnessed Golden Lion Shiki’s battle with Garp and Sengoku, and learned Rokushiki techniques by observing them.
• Carlos infiltrated Impel Down and freed Shiki, who agreed to teach him Haki and body techniques in exchange for their cooperation as independent powers.
• In Loguetown, Carlos watched Roger’s execution and heard Roger proclaim that he had left his treasure in one place, then departed to attack the John Family and unify the West Blue Mafia.
• Carlos fought Diamante and Doflamingo, then joined Doflamingo against the Marines and used Amaterasu to kill the commander and nearby soldiers.
• Kelly warned Carlos that the John Family was heading for Iron Island, so Carlos ordered his forces to prepare and returned to defend the island.
• Carlos confirmed his leaders were ready for battle, warned them to monitor the Lord’s Mansion and Steel Self-Defense Force, and set out to investigate a possible threat himself.

Carlos destroyed the John Family’s leadership, took control of its forces, and secured recognition as a West Blue Godfather. He then spent more than a year in seclusion developing his Haki and Body Techniques before returning to his family in July of Oceanic Era 1500.

• Carlos exposed Lord Morris’s alliance with the John Family, then defeated the invading forces on Iron Island and forced Degu to submit.
• Carlos posed as the assassin Tobi, manipulated John Matt’s ambition, and killed John Family targets until he reached John Abad.
• Carlos tortured John Abad to death through Tsukuyomi and used Kotoamatsukami to alter John Matt’s will, setting Matt up to lead the John Family.
• At Matt’s succession ceremony, Carlos revealed himself as his successor, and Matt killed himself before Carlos and his men seized the castle and crushed the John Family’s resistance.
• Carlos purged the John Family’s remaining forces, won over or defeated its partners, and gained recognition as a West Sea Godfather and leader of one of the five great Mafia families.
• Carlos began secluded training, mastering Observation Haki and developing a new Armament Haki cultivation method while creating his own Body Techniques.
• More than a year later, Carlos returned to the castle, where Kelly, Noah, and the other leaders welcomed him and reported on the family’s affairs.

Carlos defeated the Charlie Family, forced the Capone, Gambino, and Ferro Families into an alliance under his leadership, and learned of the World Government’s campaign against Ohara. He traveled alone to Ohara to save Nico Robin and Nicole Olvia, arriving as the Marines prepared a Buster Call.

• Carlos prepared the Lucifer Family for war, led its forces against the Charlie Family, and captured Ham Island and Flowing Cloud Island after defeating its defenders.
• Carlos defeated Charlie Eagle’s hired fighters Dolores, Martin, and Riley, recruited them, and killed Charlie Eagle and Charlie Fikes on Paradise Island.
• Carlos summoned the Capone, Gambino, and Ferro Families to Purple Heart Island and compelled their heads to accept him as leader of a West Sea Mafia alliance.
• Carlos announced the alliance as the West Sea’s sole Godfather, while reports of his power and the unification spread across the seas and drew attention from CP9 and the Marines.
• Carlos considered the World Government’s campaign against Ohara and developed theories about the Void Century, the ancient kingdom, and the Clan of D.
