Some Evil Spirits originate from lingering souls. Child Demons, for example, may form when children die young and their souls remain attached to their homeland rather than entering reincarnation. 40

Many Evil Spirits establish fixed territories known as Evil Nests. They usually remain there unless disturbed or given a special reason to leave, but destroyed nests can eventually reappear elsewhere. 103 104

Evil Spirits have no uniform appearance. They may be incorporeal wandering souls, inhabit a physical shell, imitate humans, or reveal grotesque true forms when exposed or restrained.
