Overview

The Haotian Realm is an immeasurably vast Upper Realm inhabited by billions of intelligent beings, with humanity constituting only one of its many peoples. Its Nine Provinces alone occupy only a small part of the realm; a single human province is larger than the entire Mountain Sea Realm. 574 607

Its abundant spiritual energy creates a far higher baseline for cultivation than lower realms. Native children without congenital defects are born at the Mortal Transformation level, commonly begin absorbing spiritual energy between ages three and five, and may open a Purple Mansion in adulthood. 574

Nine Provinces

The human Nine Provinces are generally more stable than other regions because humanity has endured a prolonged struggle against the demon race. Demonic territory exceeds the Nine Provinces in size, and demonic beasts, spirit demons, and Great Demons remain a constant threat. 610

The Nine Provinces Immortal Alliance is one of the Haotian Realm's largest human powers. It consists of hundreds of immortal sects and tens of thousands of immortal clans, is protected by Dao Integration True Venerables, and commands hundreds of Spirit Transformation True Monarchs. 610

• The Alliance formulates many of the rules governing humanity in the Nine Provinces. 610

Immortal cities range greatly in scale and status.

Ascension and Immortal Registry

The Haotian Realm does not inherently reject outsiders, but unregistered arrivals face severe social and legal dangers. Rogue cultivators who cross into the realm may be hunted, used as cultivation materials, or enslaved. 574 602

Entering the Realm

• Ascension through the Heaven-Connecting Tower requires a Dao pact acknowledging the risks of crossing realms. 605
• Entrants pass through a disorienting void before arriving in the Haotian Realm. 605
• A Void Trial is required to enter the realm. 574

Paths to Registration

A lower-realm cultivator without official status can obtain an immortal registry through several known methods:

• Avoid capture and cultivate to the Nascent Soul realm, then seek registration in an immortal city; many immortal clans welcome Nascent Soul True Immortals. 602
• Obtain one of the limited immortal ascension orders issued by immortal cities. 602
• Earn access through the systems and connections recognized by the Nine Provinces Immortal Alliance. Descending to a lower realm alone requires both approval and at least 5,000 Alliance merit points. 1108

Laws and Spiritual Environment

The Haotian Realm's laws differ sharply from those of the Mountain Sea Realm.

• Talismans, pills, and magic tools brought from the Mountain Sea Realm may become ineffective; pills can even turn poisonous. 602 606
• Lower-realm spells can still function, but initially operate at less than half their former power and duration until the caster gradually adapts. 607

The realm possesses a powerful world consciousness. It protects its territory against invading Outer Realm Heavenly Demons and can suppress stronger invaders more severely at its boundaries. 1355 It also claimed the World Origin Fire carried back by Wang Chen, then rewarded him with a six-layer advance from Nascent Soul layer one to layer seven. 1351

Boundary Passes and Outer Realm Heavenly Demons

Boundary Passes are fortress realms positioned at weak points where the Haotian Realm borders the void. Their purpose is to prevent incursions by Outer Realm Heavenly Demons. 1108 1355

• The Nine Provinces Immortal Alliance governs 86 Boundary Passes, classified as Heaven, Earth, Black, or Yellow tier. 1355
