History

Wang Chen found the Heavenly Net to Punish Evil as an unremarkable, worn net at the bottom of Lu Defang's storage bag. His cultivation panel identified it as a sealed treasure, unlike anything Lu Defang had recognized. Initially, Wang Chen intended to spend Human Virtue to open its seal, but discovered that the net gained unsealing progress more efficiently by directly destroying Evil Spirits. 115 118

Once unsealed, the treasure became a dark-gold, rune-covered net and was refined into an armguard. Its first large-scale battle demonstrated its defining property: it annihilated Evil Spirits while converting their evil power into immaculate spiritual energy that replenished Wang Chen's Mana. 119 120

During Wang Chen's hunts in the North Sha Eye, the net absorbed enough evil power to reach its capacity and undergo an internal transformation. It conveyed a new refining method and functions, including controllable extraction and the defensive Heavenly Net Robe. It also showed nascent sentience, though a new Artifact Spirit had not yet formed. 674

The net remained effective beyond the Haotian Realm. Wang Chen summoned it into the Sea of Stars through his connection to his main body, activated it with psionic energy, and used it to purify the evil energy within a Blood Crystal. 1282 1318

Appearance

Before unsealing, the Heavenly Net to Punish Evil looked like a small, pitch-black fishing net. Without Mana, it could only cover an area about the size of a washbasin and appeared ordinary. 118

After unsealing, it retained its size and weight but became dark gold, with countless interwoven runes branded across every cord. 119
