Background / History

The Sea Clan inhabits the vast oceans and includes branches such as the Merman Tribe, Sea Giant Tribe, and Sea Shark Tribe, each occupying different waters and ecological domains. Their origin tradition holds that they were enlightened by the ancient Dragon God. 365

During the Sea Clan's self-described Manifestation Era, it controlled more than half of the Three Thousand Worlds and treated humanity as vassals in Sea Clan-ruled worlds. A later racial war reversed that dominance: rising human experts defeated the Sea Clan, nearly exterminating it and confining its people to only two or three worlds. The Sea Clan calls this defeat the Darkest Age. 367

After sealing off its territories for roughly ten thousand years, the Sea Clan rebuilt its strength. It possesses more than ten Yang God-level combatants, and a new immortal-level figure emerged three hundred years before the Golden Mulberry Secret Realm incident. 371 By the later Ancient Immortal Sect Ruins expedition, news had spread that the Sea Clan possessed a third immortal. 483

Golden Mulberry Secret Realm Expedition

Zaku, Saka, and Talon entered the Golden Mulberry Secret Realm as part of a Sea Clan probe of the human race. They killed the Four-Winged Cold Cicada's true body, seriously wounded Wang Lingguan, sealed the Wood Spirit Physique, and intended to take it back for refinement into lesser immortal-treasure-grade pills. 365 371

Chen Yan arrived in time to rescue Wang Lingguan and recover the Wood Spirit Physique. Zaku was killed, followed by Saka; Chen Yan used Talon and Saka's memories to uncover the Sea Clan's restored Yang God and immortal-level strength. 370 371

Preparations for Conflict

After Zaku's group died, a Sea Clan superior in the Star Realm ordered the wider plan to continue, dismissing the possibility that human forces had uncovered it. 385

The Sea Clan sought to exploit declining spiritual energy in its controlled worlds by expanding into richer worlds. Its intelligence-gathering and raids were preparatory steps toward a wider struggle with humanity. 371 373

Ancient Immortal Sect Ruins Ambush

Sea Clan Yang God True Monarchs lay in wait outside the Ascension Gate. Allied human traitors contaminated the Lesser Northern Star Origin Array with Blood Filth Divine Light, exposing the human expedition to the Divine Wind and enabling the Sea Clan assault. 426 427

Hu Meng led the attack with a Yang God Eighth Layer Sea Yaksha Dharma Form, while the Sea Clan army targeted human Yang Gods and promising younger cultivators such as Chen Yan, Li Shouyi, and Little Monk Tianyin. The stated strategic purpose was to create a future gap in the Human Clan's younger generation of Yang God combatants. 427 428 433

Battles with Chen Yan

The Sea Clan repeatedly underestimated Chen Yan due to outdated intelligence that placed him near Zaku's former level. A Yin God Nine Refinements Sea Clan female cultivator was sent against him and was immediately beheaded. 429

Within the ruins, Chen Yan killed Sea Clan Yang God opponents at the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Layers, including Chasong and Chalong. These defeats frightened other Sea Clan cultivators and weakened their position in the expedition. 431 445 446 451 494

Baleful Qi Lake and the Ancient Palace

At Baleful Qi Lake, Hu Meng temporarily restrained his subordinates from attacking Chen Yan's group in accordance with an agreement over the unknown treasure. 463 467

The Sea Clan later proposed a temporary partnership to break the ancient palace's immortal-level Protector Array, agreeing that each side would attack from separate directions and claim any treasure by ability.
