Background / History

Sirin grew up in Belarus with her tailor mother. At age three, she found Ye Chang'an in a snowy forest and began calling him “Lord God.” Though he initially tried to avoid becoming entangled with her fate, she persistently sought him out, and the two spent years playing, listening to music, and exploring the surrounding villages and forest. 43 44

She dreamed of becoming a tailor like her mother. With Ye Chang'an’s help, she designed and made a dress as a birthday gift for her mother, though Ye Chang'an completed most of the sewing. 44

When her mother fell ill from Destruction, Sirin’s faith in Ye Chang'an was shaken by his initial refusal to interfere with fate. After he promised that her mother would recover and that they would reunite, Sirin’s faith returned even more strongly, giving birth to her musical Sea of Consciousness imprint. 45

Sirin accompanied Ye Chang'an into Babylon Laboratory, where she used a conjured violin to calm the imprisoned children while he seized the facility. Her music later reached him in the reactor and supported his condensation of the Void Core. 47 48

Personality

Sirin is affectionate, idealistic, and intensely loyal to Ye Chang'an. As a child, she sees him as an omnipotent “Lord God,” admires his protection of her mother and the displaced people of Starlight City, and believes that someone who saves others cannot truly be evil. 44 46

She is also determined and possessive in her affection. After realizing that Ye Chang'an sees her as a junior rather than a romantic partner, she briefly attempts to approach him under the identity of Kiana Kaslana, abandons the disguise after being recognized, and instead resolves to mature openly through a music career. 59 60

Her grief over Ye Chang'an’s apparent death drives her to seek revenge, but she refuses to surrender her identity for power. Rather than allow an Arbiter persona to replace her, she destroys it and claims its power herself. 68 69

Sirin is fiercely protective of her friends, particularly Bella, and readily acts against anyone she believes has harmed them. 133
