Confronting Obito

Inside the Hokage's office, Sarutobi Hiruzen, Shimura Danzō, Utatane Koharu, and Mitokado Homura sat in a row, waiting for the Anbu to return with news.

A figure instantly appeared below them. It was Kakashi, who had rushed over using the Body Flicker Technique. "Lord Hokage, the Hyuga clan has been wiped out. The culprit is Kei, and he is fleeing toward the Uchiha District."

"What?!" Their eyes widened. The Hyuga had been wiped out!

Sarutobi Hiruzen knew that Hyuga Kei had a grudge against the Hyuga clan, but he had never expected him to be so ruthless as to directly exterminate the entire clan.

How could he possess such strength? Impossible!

Yet, after taking a deep drag from his pipe and exhaling a cloud of white smoke, he gradually calmed down. "Are there any Hyuga survivors?"

Shimura Danzō was more concerned about where the Main House's Byakugan had gone. "What about the bodies?"

"I don't know whether there are any survivors, but when we arrived, we didn't see a single Hyuga member. According to Hyuga Kei, all those who disappeared were 'eaten' by him."

"Idiots! Why did you come back to report instead of stopping him?" Danzō shouted.

"My apologies. Kei is simply too powerful, and his Byakugan seems to have evolved as well." Kakashi lowered his head.

"The Anbu truly have become useless. Let Root handle this." As Shimura Danzō spoke, he rose to his feet and left the Hokage Building with several Root members following behind him. He intended to personally pursue Hyuga Kei.

Watching his old friend depart, Sarutobi Hiruzen let out a sigh. "Tell me about Kei's eyes."

"Yes. After Kei activated them, his eyes shone with a deep blue light unlike ordinary Byakugan, and the veins around them barely bulged at all."

"This is a new Kekkei Genkai. Furthermore, Hyuga Kei can fly, which is clearly an ability of this new bloodline."

Kakashi then recounted every detail he had witnessed.

"Lord Hokage, should we hunt Kei down?"

"Ah... leave this to Root. Issue a bounty. Classify Hyuga Kei as an S-rank Missing-nin, with a reward of fifty million ryo."

After Kakashi and the others left, Sarutobi Hiruzen looked up at the round moon in the sky. After tonight, Konoha would lose two great bloodline ninja clans.

Hyuga Kei's main body hurried toward the Uchiha District, hoping to absorb more Uchiha bloodline while the Uchiha clan was being exterminated.

The instant the blade came down, Hyuga Kei made his move. Wind Style: Wind Blade struck Obito at the same time, forcing him to enter his phasing state. The long blade passed through Izumi's body.

Hyuga Kei activated his half-evolved Byakugan, and his powerful aura swept across the area. "How about we make a deal? Give me some Sharingan, and hand that girl over to me. I'll spare your life. How does that sound?"

That was a pair of Three Tomoe. With a little guidance, they might become a pair of Mangekyo. Even if he ate her then, it would still be a massive profit.

Secretly, Hyuga Kei peered at the face beneath Obito's mask, but all he could see was blue chakra.

Tch, does that mask block perception? No wonder he has hidden his identity so well.

"Hahaha, this is the first time I've seen someone dare threaten Madara Uchiha." Obito had clearly been angered into laughter. With a flick of the chains around his arm, he hurled Uchiha Izumi into a wall, knocking her unconscious.

"Then go die!" Obito suddenly launched his attack, swinging his long blade down and sending out a bloody slash.

Hyuga Kei stretched his right hand forward, and Repulsion scattered every bloody slash.

Obito was startled. This was a technique of the Rinnegan. At that thought, he greedily looked at Hyuga Kei's blue-glowing Byakugan.

Lightning covered both of Hyuga Kei's palms as he swiftly closed in on Obito for close combat. The two quickly became entangled in battle. With the attacks of Lightning Palm and the defense of Repulsion, Hyuga Kei continuously forced Obito to phase.

Hyuga Kei knew from intelligence that although Obito's phasing was nearly invincible, it only lasted five minutes. His own chakra was immense, so he could drag this out for five minutes even if he had to.

The sight made Black Zetsu, hidden in the shadows, widen his eyes as he stared in disbelief at Hyuga Kei's eyes. "The Tenseigan!"

"They are Hamura's eyes. I never expected a descendant of the Hyuga clan to awaken the Tenseigan. This is an unforeseen variable. He must be eliminated here."

With that thought, Black Zetsu emerged. "Madara! That is the Tenseigan, the evolution of the Byakugan. It can manipulate Attraction and Repulsion."

"He has yet to fully adapt to his new abilities. He must be killed. He is an unforeseen variable in our plan."

Obito was exhausted by Hyuga Kei's relentless attacks, yet he had no way to deal with them. Hyuga Kei's Tenseigan possessed three hundred and sixty-degree vision, along with nearly unsolvable Attraction and Repulsion.

He simply could not attack Hyuga Kei. Whenever he was about to land a hit, Hyuga Kei would force him into his phasing state.

Hyuga Kei, meanwhile, seemed to have seen through his abilities. He was in no rush, merely following Obito's movements and continuously striking with his palms, not allowing Obito to stop phasing.

Black Zetsu, concealed in the darkness, was even more shocked. "Can that guy see the future?"

As the son of Kaguya Otsutsuki, he had inherited all of his mother's memories. Naturally, he understood what this meant.

Only the pure bloodline of the Otsutsuki Clan could develop the Byakugan to the point of seeing the future and seeing through hearts. Even his mother had not achieved that ability, so how could he?

At that thought, he knew it was impossible to kill Hyuga Kei. Everything had to be considered over the long term.

"Madara! That guy has seen through your abilities. The mission is already complete, so there is no need to keep fighting."

Obito glanced at Black Zetsu, then formed hand seals again and retreated several steps, creating distance between himself and Hyuga Kei. "Fire Style: Majestic Destroyer Flame."

Obito leaped into the air and, through his mask, expelled a massive arrow of fire. Hyuga Kei spread his hand and knocked aside the flames before him.

When the flames vanished, Obito had already disappeared.

Hyuga Kei looked at the unconscious Izumi. It was fine as long as she had not been taken away. Her talent was quite good; perhaps she could awaken the Mangekyo. Killing her now would be too much of a waste. Carrying the unconscious Uchiha Izumi over his shoulder, he entered the Leaf Village Police Force.

The place was filled with Uchiha corpses. They had all been Uchiha elites, yet Obito had killed them all and removed their eyes.

Hyuga Kei formed hand seals, and black flesh instantly grew from the corpses scattered across the ground. Hyuga Kei accepted their purest bloodlines and chakra without hesitation.

Sensing several more chakra signatures rushing toward this place, Hyuga Kei rolled his shoulders.

"Those Root bastards really are impossible to get rid of!"
