Background

Obito once served under Minato Namikaze alongside Kakashi Hatake and Rin Nohara. He was believed to have died at Kannabi Bridge, having given his two-tomoe Sharingan to Kakashi before disappearing from the public record. He later became responsible for the Nine-Tails' Rampage and the Kirigakure incident. 55 67

Operating behind a mask under the name “Madara Uchiha,” Obito killed Uchiha elites during the clan annihilation and removed their eyes. He also attempted to take Uchiha Izumi, but Hyuga Kei forced him to withdraw. 17

Obito recruited Kei into Akatsuki under the name “Tobi,” offering access to the God Tree's fruit. Their alliance was founded on mutual utility rather than trust. 21 Kei subsequently exposed Obito's role in the Nine-Tails' Rampage, causing Nagato and the Six Paths of Pain to sever ties with him. 67

Kei orchestrated a Leaf Village operation against Obito, supplying intelligence on Kamui and using Minato's Flying Thunder God mark to locate him after the battle.
