A True Madman

"How about it? Beg me. Beg me, and maybe I'll let her go." Hyuga Kei flashed a brilliant smile as he looked mockingly at Hyuga Hiashi.

Hiashi closed his eyes, refusing to look at his wife's miserable state. Knowing what he had done, he naturally knew what fate awaited him.

No matter what, Hyuga Kei would never spare his family. He might as well preserve a little dignity for himself.

Fortunately, at his wife's urging, he had let Neji take Hinata and Hanabi out to play. He could only hope that when Konoha and the Hyuga clan discovered his death tomorrow morning, they would kill this madman for him.

"Looks like you don't plan to beg me. I'm not as heartless as you are. Maybe if you beg me, I'll give you a quick death like the other Hyuga clan members."

Hyuga Hiashi's eyes split with rage. All his life, he had made preserving the Hyuga clan his goal, yet today, the Hyuga clan had been exterminated just like that.

Hyuga Kei savored Hyuga Hiashi's curses until the man finally ran out of words.

Then Hyuga Kei revealed another crucial piece of information.

"You're thinking that Hinata and Hanabi escaped disaster, aren't you? Don't worry, I won't kill them. You didn't kill me ten years ago, and ten years later, I won't kill your daughters either."

"How about it? Fair, isn't it?"

Hyuga Hiashi was just about to breathe a sigh of relief. As long as they were alive, there was still hope.

But Hyuga Kei's next words dragged him back into hell. "Of course, killing them wouldn't be enough to quell my rage. I'm going to toy with them the same way you toyed with Neji."

"I'll toy with everything they have. They'll take their father's killer as their husband. They'll see you as a disgrace and me as their savior."

"You beast! You madman! You can't do this!" Hyuga Hiashi shouted, nearly losing his mind.

Hyuga Kei relished his insults as he lifted his wife Hyuga Shiori's chin with a single finger. "Why can't I? Isn't this exactly what you did?"

"Your wife is truly beautiful. I imagine your daughters will grow into beauties too."

Hyuga Hiashi's final mental barrier crumbled. "You can't do this. I'm begging you. Give them a quick death. Let them die!"

If things truly went as Hyuga Kei said, then they might as well die with them. The entire Hyuga clan would be shamed because of them.

Hyuga Kei shook his head with a look of disgust. "You really are heartless. I won't let them die."

"Wait for my summons in the Pure Land. This won't end just like that."

In Hyuga Kei's hands, even dying completely would become a luxury.

He lightly clenched his hand. Flesh and blood churned, and Hyuga Hiashi and his wife became a pair of doomed lovers.

With his great vengeance finally avenged, countless emotions surged into his heart in an instant, and a peculiar chakra rushed straight to his eyes.

The Three Tomoe in his eyes spun at high speed, finally connecting into a curved Manji Pattern.

Hyuga Kei opened the Tenseigan once more and looked around the clan head's room. Sure enough, he discovered a hidden passage connected to the underground.

He went to the top of the seal and used the Tenseigan to open the hidden door, entering the tunnel.

Hyuga Kei was not skilled in Fuinjutsu at all. Perhaps experts from the former Uzumaki Clan could manage it, but Hyuga Kei certainly could not.

If anyone tried to force their way in with brute strength, it would trigger the self-destruct mechanism.

Hyuga Kei swiftly entered the secret chamber and saw rows upon rows of pure Byakugan preserved in glass jars. These were the accumulated results of the Hyuga clan's many years.

He did not stand on ceremony. The Ghost Blood Seizing Technique activated again, sweeping away every Byakugan in the room.

Other than the many Byakugan, only a scroll remained in the secret chamber. Hyuga Kei was equally unceremonious as he decisively stored it away.

Hyuga Kei did not dare linger any longer. The chamber was still collapsing, and he had to leave quickly, or he would end up like Obito.

After returning to the surface, Hyuga Kei saw several figures rushing toward him.

"Kakashi, Tenzo, and the others... I hadn't planned to meet them, but since they're here, I should say a proper farewell."

Hyuga Kei stood where he was and waited for them to approach.

"Kei, what happened here? Where are the Hyuga clan members?"

Kakashi, Tenzo, and several Anbu members swiftly drew close. They had rushed over immediately after hearing the commotion.

Although Kei was his friend, and although he had no favorable impression of the Hyuga clan after learning what Hyuga Kei had endured, he still had to ask.

On their way here, they had seen that the vast Hyuga compound was completely empty. The Hyuga clan members seemed to have vanished.

"What...?" The surrounding Anbu spoke in shock, scarcely believing what they had heard.

At first, they did not believe him. But when they thought of how there was not even a single corpse in sight, they could not help but believe it somewhat.

One man had wiped out an entire clan and had not even left behind a corpse.

Before they could recover, Hyuga Kei continued, "I exterminated the Hyuga clan. We had a grudge to begin with. There's no need to question that."

After saying this, Hyuga Kei turned his back and prepared to leave.

"You can't go!" Several other Anbu moved to stop him.

Hyuga Kei looked back coldly, his gaze like an iceberg as he revealed Byakugan that had turned half blue. "You are not my opponents. You can't stop me."

The chakra he had absorbed from over a hundred ninja, large and small, poured forth. The many Anbu were cowed by his aura and did not dare move.

He asked icily, "Kakashi, do you think I can leave?"

Kakashi did not want to fight his friend, nor did he want these Anbu to make meaningless sacrifices. He took a deep breath and exhaled. "Of course. You can leave."

Hyuga Kei smiled faintly, like an iceberg melting. He withdrew his aura, waved his hand, and walked into the distance. "Kakashi, read less of Jiraiya's work. It's bad for your health. The Sharingan isn't a good thing for you either. You can try sealing it."

"Hatake Sakumo once reached Kage level through swordsmanship. Don't abandon your blade techniques."

"Tenzo, honestly, I don't think you have much talent as a ninja. I suggest going to the Land of Fire and getting into real estate. With that Three Rooms and One Hall Technique, you might become a tycoon. Then you could even earn some funds for Konoha."

"Ameyuri, hurry up and retire. Find a wife and get married. You're getting older and older. Before long, you won't be able to find one."

After saying that, Hyuga Kei leaped into the air. Using the Attraction control of his half-evolved Byakugan, he flew directly into the sky.

Kakashi's expression did not change after hearing Hyuga Kei's words. With his dead-fish eyes, he watched Hyuga Kei depart. Perhaps this was the best ending for his friend.

Hyuga Kei revealed a pair of azure eyes as brilliant as the Milky Way.

"I'll return to take you away in a few years. For now, endure a little longer."

As Hyuga Kei's figure gradually disappeared,

Neji ran to where Hyuga Kei had just stood and shouted, "What is the truth?"

Finally, Neji ran toward the now utterly empty Hyuga compound.

Hyuga Kei did not plan to tell Neji the truth for the time being. There were many reasons. First, he was going out into the world, where danger was extreme. It was better to let Neji remain in Konoha.
