Background / History

Xiao Qinghong and Wild God Technology

Before becoming Red Night, she was Xiao Qinghong, the former head and Young Chairman of Wild God Technology. She consolidated family shares to take control of the company and implemented major reforms; Lu Bing describes her business ability as exceeding that of NanGong Qian Feng, though her strict management style made her feared within the company. 251 287

After Xiao Qinghong's father was killed, those involved attempted to make her a compliant figurehead through money, shares, threats, and persuasion. She outwardly accepted, then secretly bankrupted them through her own retaliation. Her subsequent strict reforms and lack of sentimentality gave Sanada an opening to isolate her and seize control in a coup. 481

Xiao Qinghong approved a soul-strengthening experiment later known as the Soul Project, but Sanada and an unknown collaborator betrayed her. Her bodyguards turned on her, her Soul Consciousness was extracted, and her body was taken away. The experiment's aftermath left her with fragmented memories and transformed her into Red Night. 267 307

Life as a Soul Consciousness

Red Night escaped Wild God Technology alongside Yu Ye and survived by sharing Yu Ye's body. To conceal their actual condition, they used a cover story of childhood personality splitting; Red Night could also appear as a holographic or soul-based projection. 185 190
