Background / History

Before becoming the Water Hero, Lu Bing was a gifted Water Strength cultivator who made a name for herself in the East Sea and prepared to challenge the previous Water Hero. During closed-door cultivation, she suffered internal injuries and was ambushed by rival Qi Practitioners, including cultivators funded by the incumbent Water Hero. She survived the attack, but her organs were severely damaged; she kept herself alive with Water Control techniques while the Heavenly Water Dojo cared for her. 269

Lu Bing later became close to Xiao Qinghong, the former chairman of Wild God Technology. She advised Xiao Qinghong against promoting Hydrogen Energy Organs because ordinary people and cultivators could not safely withstand them. Their time living together established a lasting friendship; Xiao Qinghong also introduced the formerly water-purist Lu Bing to Cola, creating her enduring addiction. 269

Wild God Technology initially hired Lu Bing to kill Ji Qinglin. After confronting him at Ji's General Store and discovering Red Night's connection to her past, Lu Bing called the assignment a misunderstanding, returned Red Night's Cola pendant, and began investigating Red Night's identity and history herself. 203 206
