Background / History

Gu Shao'an came from Jiangnan. His family had once been wealthy, but his parents were killed by mountain bandits while passing through Jade Mountain Town. Abbot Juechen rescued him when his life was in danger and brought him to Emei. 3 23

During Emei's disciple-selection trials, he reached the summit of the Heart-Questioning Stone Steps first and calmly navigated the mist-filled Bamboo Sea with his knowledge of the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams. His examination revealed Superior Bone Structure, a rare aptitude within Emei. 2 3
