Background / History

Emei Sect is rooted on Emei Mountain, whose cloud-shrouded peaks house sites including Zixia Palace and Qingyin Pavilion. Its foundation encompasses seventy-two peaks and four principal mountains: Da E, Er E, San E, and Si E. 1 8

The sect was founded by Guo Xiang, daughter of Guo Jing. It was initially considered a first-rate force through her strength and reputation, but later declined after successive generations failed to produce a martial artist at the Condensing Essence into gang level. 13 226

Under Abbess Miejue, Emei endured its decline through strict discipline and an uncompromising response to crime within its territory. After internal problems worsened following losses among its elders, Miejue, Juechen, and other elders reformed the sect rules and restored its upright reputation over nearly a decade. 68

Gu Shao'an’s admission transformed Emei’s prospects. Miejue recognized him as a prodigy, invested the sect’s remaining Bodhi Exquisite Pills in him, and gradually prepared him as her successor.
