Background / History

Dai Mubai fled the Star Luo Empire for the Heaven Dou Empire after his elder brother, Dai Weisi, killed their second brother and pursued him as well. As the third prince, he regarded escape to a hostile nation as his best chance of survival. 34

He first encountered Ning Qiu after attacking Gou Dan and Gou Dan’s father. Proud of his top-grade Evil Eye White Tiger martial soul, Dai Mubai challenged Ning Qiu, only to be overwhelmed by Ning Qiu’s higher Soul Power and forced to admit defeat. He was required to compensate Holy Soul Village for damaged vegetables or work off the debt. 32 33

After witnessing Holy Soul Village’s Mission Board and its rewards, he chose to become a registered villager. He subsequently joined Ning Qiu’s training group, participated in Great Spirit Arena battles, and became one of the Holy Soul Village Eleven Heroes. 34 37 47

Dai Mubai later met Zhu Zhuqing, whose Hell Spirit Cat martial soul naturally complemented his Evil Eye White Tiger. He initially recognized her by her surname and martial soul, discovering that she was his fiancée. 47

Appearance

In normal circumstances, Dai Mubai has golden hair and distinctive double pupils. Upon Martial Soul Possession, he takes on traits of a white tiger. 32 47

  • Hair becomes predominantly white with conspicuous black strands. 32
  • Four markings appear on his forehead, forming the character for “king.” 32
  • Pupils turn deep azure. 32
  • Hands enlarge, grow white fur, and develop eight-inch claws. 32
  • His transformed physique is heavily muscular and gives the impression of a feral tiger. 32

Personality

Dai Mubai is initially arrogant, aggressive, and quick to assert his status and strength. His defeat by Ning Qiu forces him to reassess his assumptions, and he gradually becomes a dependable member of Holy Soul Village who follows Ning Qiu’s leadership. 32 33 37

He is tactically minded and politically aware. He understands the Great Spirit Arena’s structure, recognizes military advantages in bandit suppression, and remains concerned about threats to the Star Luo Empire despite his conflict with Dai Weisi. 37 78 98

Dai Mubai’s past womanizing is tied both to the Evil Eye White Tiger’s nature and to his effort to appear wasteful and harmless to his elder brother. He admits this honestly to Zhu Zhuqing and attempts to change after she enters his life. 47 67 84
