History
A initially clashes with Senya’s group while seeking Tsunade’s treatment for Karai. He activates his Lightning Chakra Cloak and prepares to force her cooperation, but Senya’s Mangekyō Sharingan genjutsu against Killer B leaves A unable to press the confrontation as he wishes 68 69. A later fights Senya and uses a powerful lightning technique in an attempt to decide their battle 72.
As Raikage, A sends ninja into the Land of Wind to investigate the disturbance caused by Senya’s absorption of the Dragon Vein 251. He subsequently grows wary of Konoha’s expanding influence, particularly its close alliance with Kirigakure, but chooses not to oppose it because of his relationship with Senya 288. The two later drink together in Konoha; Senya addresses him as “Big Bro A” 321 322.
When the shinobi villages unite against Obito’s war, A joins the allied leadership under Senya’s supreme command 500. He tests Konoha’s Gatling gun and learns about its firearms, tanks, and artillery while the leaders finalize their war strategy 502.
Personality
A is fiercely competitive and quick to meet a challenge directly. He trains with Ōnoki in mind as an imaginary opponent, joins Killer B in a drinking contest, and immediately attacks Obito when he appears before the assembled leaders 72 77 498. He is also politically cautious: despite fearing that Konoha’s growing influence could upset the balance among villages, he decides against confronting it 288.
