Jay had never seen the real Superman with his own eyes before. He had only seen his face in countless photographs and video recordings—well, aside from the movies and comics he had seen in the past.

The fluttering red cape, the strong, chiseled features, the towering body like a mountain exuding a suffocatingly imposing presence—this was the legend who had influenced Metropolis and even the entire world more deeply than anyone else: Superman.

He was different from what Jay had imagined. Compared to the Son of Tomorrow whose radiance was said to be almost blinding, the man before him gave off more of a lofty, icy coldness. His grave, stern expression seemed carved from stone, and a chilling gleam shone from his blue eyes as though it could pierce straight into the depths of one's soul. He looked like a god utterly devoid of mortal emotion.

But Kara clearly recognized him. Covering her mouth, she asked in disbelief, "Superman, is that really you?"

"It's me, Kara," he answered coolly, turning his head slightly, seemingly confirming his identity. Maybe he was simply enraged by the terrorists' unforgivable actions, which was why he seemed so heartless. Jay thought.

But Superman had been gone for six whole years! Where had he been all this time? Why had neither the public nor even his closest family and best friends known that he was still alive?

Faced with this uninvited guest who had descended like a god, Va**'s heartbeat quickened as well. Jay could see adrenaline flooding through him uncontrollably, betraying the calm facade he had forced on himself and exposing the fear and tension rooted deep within him at the sight of Superman.
