Background / History

Huo Yuhao was initially a frail Spiritual-attribute Soul Master who fought Soul Beasts despite his weakness. After receiving his first Soul Ring, he met Tang Ya, Bei Bei, and Han Yu, and considered joining the Tang Sect after losing his family and lacking direction 17 21.

At Shrek Academy, he became Han Yu's roommate and later shared a dormitory with Wang Dong. He admired Han Yu's strength, yet increasingly envied the attention, success, and resources Han Yu received. Huo Yuhao and Tang Ya attempted to sell grilled fish, but struggled against Han Yu's more popular business 25 26 61.

He attained temporary Outer Courtyard core-disciple status after a competition, but interpreted the recognition as pity and concluded that Shrek Academy would not properly invest in him 73. In the Far North Land, he acquired the Ice Fang Magic Pig King as his second Martial Soul, gaining the power to absorb Soul Power and bloodlines 90.

An illusion forced Huo Yuhao to relive the abuse suffered by himself and his mother, Huo Yun'er. The experience awakened overwhelming resentment: his eyes turned purplish-black, his Hao Dong Power connection with Wang Dong was severed, and his aura became that of an Evil Soul Master 115.

He later abducted Dai Huabin and absorbed the latter's White Tiger Martial Soul. This transformed and evolved Huo Yuhao's Spirit Eye into the Evil Eye Purple Tiger, after which he formally severed his ties with Shrek Academy 122.

After leaving Shrek, Huo Yuhao traveled toward the Sun Moon Empire, still intending to learn Soul Tool knowledge eventually, but placing revenge first 142. The Zhongli brothers recruited him into the Holy Spirit Cult, promising resources and powerful Soul Masters whose Soul Power he could absorb. He accepted and participated in a massacre that hardened his decision to abandon his previous moral restraints 143.

Zhongli Wu accepted him as a disciple and named him the Holy Spirit Cult's Holy Son. The cult supplied him with resources, protection, and captured Soul Masters, accelerating his cultivation but burdening him with negative emotions and recurring urges to kill 151.

Huo Yuhao begins as resilient, polite, and eager to improve. He is excited by his first Soul Ring, curious about Han Yu's illusion skill, and respectful toward Mu En, but is also acutely aware of the gap between his own prospects and Han Yu's 21 23 25.

His envy gradually develops into resentment. He believes Shrek Academy values him only when he is useful, and he rejects what he sees as its conditional support. His desire to avenge his mother and control his own fate becomes inseparable from his pursuit of power 73 158 201.

As an Evil Soul Master, Huo Yuhao becomes colder, more arrogant, and increasingly ruthless. He openly justifies absorbing others' Soul Power, prioritizes strength and resources over former relationships, and rejects Wang Dong's and Xuan Zi's attempts to bring him back 157 158. Despite this, Tang Ya remains a vital emotional anchor who helps preserve his remaining will when his accumulated negative emotions threaten to overwhelm him 242.
