Background / History

Du Busi’s elder brother, Du Bi Si, preceded him as Body Sect Master and died following his conflict with Mu En. Du Busi retains a deep grudge against Mu En and Shrek Academy, but refuses to sacrifice the sect in a full-scale war for personal revenge. He considers his responsibilities as sect master before his position as a younger brother or the Heaven Dou Empire’s guardian Douluo 141 161.

He also hints at a painful romantic past, but refuses to explain it to Han Yu 108.

Personality

Du Busi is openly affectionate toward promising disciples, particularly Han Yu. Upon accepting him, he becomes so excited that he dances with joy and promises to obtain whatever resources his cultivation requires—even through theft. He values a martial soul’s potential more than its owner’s initial soul power 3.

His teaching combines genuine care with deliberately harsh trials. He prepares medicinal treatment for Han Yu’s injuries, secretly guards him during his first soul-ring hunt, and uses deceptive sparring to teach him not to trust an opponent’s apparent strength 6 8 15.

He is boastful and enjoys humiliating rivals. After becoming a Limit Douluo, he interrupts his journey specifically to flaunt the breakthrough before Xuan Zi and force him to use the address “Body Crown” 152 153.

Despite his aggression, Du Busi understands restraint. He spares Xuan Zi because killing him could provoke Shrek’s retaliation and benefit the Sun Moon Empire.
