Background / History

Xu Jiujiu met Ji Lin after the Star Crown Sect brought the orphaned two-year-old to Star Luo City. As the youngest sister of Emperor Xu Jiawei, she enjoyed being called “Sister Jiujiu,” since Ji Lin was the only member of her generation younger than her. She personally escorted him to his Martial Soul awakening and was stunned when he awakened the Heavenly Fire Holy Judgment. 1

She became protective of Ji Lin’s cultivation, urging him not to become complacent after awakening Innate Full Soul Power. As he devoted himself excessively to training, she regularly pulled him away to shop or walk through the city so that he would not overwork himself. 2 12

Xu Jiawei formally proposed an engagement between Xu Jiujiu and Ji Lin, to be completed after Ji Lin graduated from Shrek Academy. Their engagement ceremony was attended by imperial nobles and Titled Douluo, and their relationship subsequently became openly romantic. 12
