Though it was a wreck, that little car still weighed at least two or three tons. Having it come crashing down like that was no joke, yet that musclebound brute had actually thrown it.
"Let's see how you run now, you little bug!"
The wrecked car hurtled toward Ryuu Mufei. Just as he was about to be crushed into a pancake, sweat began pouring from the palms of the outwardly composed Ryuu Mufei. Yet at that critical moment, a black shadow suddenly flashed before his eyes.
After a powerful impact, the car was instantly sent flying more than ten meters away. It slammed directly into a wall, punching a hole through the entire surface, and the wrecked car became embedded in the massive breach. A deep footprint remained on its metal roof.
Clearly, this had not been caused by Ryuu Mufei's telekinetic defense. Someone else was responsible.
Not only Ryuu Mufei, but even the hulking, musclebound man stared blankly at the person who had kicked away the wrecked car, apparently still unable to believe it.
"Ah?!" Ryuu Mufei looked solemnly at the man who had suddenly appeared before him.
The man, wearing a Crimson-brimmed Hat along with a dark blue coat and blue jeans, had appeared in front of Ryuu Mufei in an instant. With lightning speed, he effortlessly resolved the crisis and saved Ryuu Mufei's life.
"Whoa..." Ryuu Mufei abruptly shoved Ryuseki aside and stared in shock at the newcomer. He kept praising him. "That's some seriously incredible strength."
The imposing presence of the hat-wearing man actually threw the giant brute into a panic. For some reason, the big man's eyes deliberately avoided him. He nervously scanned the surroundings, while the little thugs who had been acting so arrogantly just moments ago became restrained, their guns trembling in both hands.
The man in the hat slightly turned his face toward the still-shaken Ryuu Mufei. The corners of his lips lifted into a faint, eerie smile. He gave a cold chuckle, letting out a disdainful "Tch-heh~."
Through the shadow cast by his brim, a pair of sharp, blood-red eyes filled with killing intent could be seen beneath the hat. He looked like a bloodthirsty demon.
A light whirlwind swept through, stirring up the surrounding dust. The atmosphere fell utterly silent. The big man nervously swallowed, then lowered his head to look at the wounds on his body: an X-shaped cross that ran from his chest to his lower abdomen. At once, an inexplicable pain erupted from the wound. It felt as though his flesh were being torn apart, racing along his nerves straight to his brain. Then his entire body began trembling reflexively.
"What's going on? This guy..."
Ryuu Mufei had not even processed what had happened.
"Hey, fatty. I've been looking for you for a long time." The man in the hat slowly walked toward the trembling brute. Something flowing gradually appeared between his spread hands.
The big man watched him warily, beads of sweat as large as beans pouring down his forehead like rain.
In the next instant, the man was already in front of him. He kicked him in the abdomen. The big man's expression immediately twisted, and he opened his mouth wide in extreme agony as his long, ugly tongue shot out.
The big man wore a pained expression, with tears even squeezing from the corners of his eyes.
It was hard to believe that despite the enormous difference in their height and build, the big man had been struck as if by a cannonball. His entire body could barely withstand the man's attack.
The tremendous impact sent him rapidly backward, intense tremors accompanying every retreating step. After he had staggered back more than ten meters, the man was also bounced away by the recoil.
But that was nothing to the hat-wearing man. After flipping through the air, he landed firmly on both feet. With a cold smile, he lowered into a bow stance. Then, the flowing substance in his hands began slowly gathering together.
That flowing substance was airflow, energy produced by the body's cells. He had actually gathered that energy in his hands, where it immediately formed two Chi Blades around thirty to forty centimeters long.
Then, with a slight curl of his lips, he charged toward the big man.
"Tch-heh~" He gave that signature disdainful laugh again. To him, the hulking brute before him was all show and no substance, utterly outclassed by him in sheer presence.
The big man was terrified, but after that last blow, even taking two steps had become difficult. The muscles and enormous frame he had once been proud of had now become burdens. He wished he could turn into a little mouse and slip into a crack in the ground to escape. Because he had finally remembered who the man before him was. But it was too late. Remembering now was useless.
The man wearing the Crimson-brimmed Hat flashed past the big man in an instant.
"~Soul Annihilation~"
A flash of white light passed. Two huge silver-white X marks appeared across the big man's chest, perfectly overlapping the large X already there. His body was sliced open, blood erupting from the wounds in the shape of a bloody X as he fell backward to the ground.
The big man, who had been so full of life only seconds earlier, had become a corpse lying on the ground.
"Number 00825! Retired Mercenary: Teddy Worth. Bounty: 520,000 yuan!"
The man in the Crimson-brimmed Hat stood coldly beside the big man and said, "Mission complete!"
In the next instant, he vanished, taking the giant man with him. From the moment that little car had flown toward Ryuu Mufei until now, only a few dozen seconds had passed. The little thugs had all fled without a trace as well.
"What? That move was so powerful!" Lin Yingbin, who was holding down Ryuseki nearby, was astonished beyond words. Seeing such a powerful fighter had ignited the fighting spirit deep inside him to become even stronger.
"Who exactly was he?" Ryuu Mufei, who had only just processed everything, began wondering aloud. Ryuseki was equally confused. Still, he felt as though he had seen that man somewhere before, but he could not remember where or who he was.
"No, I need to become stronger too. I have to keep getting stronger. First, I need to close the gap." Lin Yingbin clenched his fists until they cracked.
Ryuseki kept searching his memories for anything related to that man. He found that the guy resembled someone he knew well, but he could not say who. Still, he was certain that he had seen him before.
