Background / History

Jiayi wakes after the apocalypse alongside her younger sister, Chen Jiayao. Immediately assuming a protective role, she checks on the frightened Jiayao and reassures her that they are still alive. 1

When the sisters run out of food, Jiayi approaches Meng De for help. His willingness to share food and protect them earns her gratitude and growing affection. She later accepts his confession partly because he offers security for both her and Jiayao amid the collapse of normal society. 3 4

Before awakening, Jiayi is frustrated by her inability to contribute in combat. Her main motivation for seeking strength is consistently the protection of Jiayao and the people around her. 15 28 59

Her Phoenix Divine Fire awakens during a dangerous heatwave, which Meng De contains with his Space Black Hole. Reaching full favorability also establishes a Goddess Bond with Meng De, granting them barrier-free heart-to-heart communication, mutual Ability replenishment, and virus immunity scaled to her level. 39 40

As Dragon Control Base expands, Jiayi becomes a central figure in its household and defense. In Meng De’s absence, she directs the base’s retreat during the Scarlet Monster assault, orders non-combatants to shelter, and personally enters the battlefield when the defenses begin to fail. 289 290
