Background / History

Kazuto trained in swordsmanship with his grandfather as a child, as the Kirigaya family maintained a multigenerational dojo. After learning that he was not biologically related to the family, he abandoned swordsmanship and immersed himself in the internet, leaving his younger sister Suguha to inherit the dojo’s training. 300

Before SAO became a death game, Kirito was one of its beta testers and reached the eighth floor. His early-game knowledge, particularly regarding monster routes and local resources, made him a valuable guide once the official version began. 299 302
