Background / History
Naruto was ostracized during childhood as the host of the Nine-Tails. The beast’s presence left him isolated, branded a “demon fox,” and burdened with unstable chakra control; he also grew up without knowing his parents. Despite this, he earned Konohagakure’s recognition by defeating Pain and bringing about the revival of those killed in the invasion. 363 394 397
His relationship with the Nine-Tails was initially defined by fear and resentment. Naruto associated Kurama’s chakra with losing control and harming people close to him, including Jiraiya and Sakura. 397
Personality
Naruto is direct, emotionally honest, and unwilling to show deference merely because someone is powerful. He rebukes Mu Yu for startling him and openly compares him to Sasuke, behavior that surprises the nearby Konoha ninja. 384 385
He is exceptionally persistent about saving Sasuke, even after repeated failures and Sasuke’s attempts on his life. Naruto considers Sasuke an irreplaceable member of Team 7 and refuses to abandon his promise to Sakura. 384 385
Naruto is also deeply empathetic. Once Mu Yu explains the Tailed Beasts’ history, Naruto abandons his hatred of Kurama and resolves to understand him rather than treat him solely as a source of power. 398
