Background & History

Aizen spent more than a century arranging Hollowfication experiments, manipulating Central 46, and framing Kisuke Urahara and Tessai Tsukabishi. Urahara and Tessai were sentenced to death and forced into exile, while Yoruichi Shihōin paid heavily to save them. 136 189

His long-term objective was to obtain the Hogyoku hidden in Rukia Kuchiki's soul, transcend the limits of Shinigami and Hollows, and ultimately reach the Spirit King's Palace. To achieve this, he engineered Rukia's execution, the invasion of Soul Society, his own apparent death, and conflicts among the Gotei 13. 179 189 202

Mu Yu's arrival disrupted Aizen's plans. Aizen initially regarded him as rare experimental material—a human with abnormal soul strength, Shinigami-comparable speed, and a bamboo sword mistaken for a Zanpakuto—and ordered Gin Ichimaru to test him. 136

Appearance

Before revealing his betrayal, Aizen presents himself as a gentle, scholarly Captain with black-rimmed glasses and an old-fashioned hairstyle. After escaping Soul Society, he removes his glasses, sweeps back his hair, and adopts a sharper, more imposing appearance. 190

Personality

Aizen is meticulous, calculating, and exceptionally patient. He treats people as pieces in a script, spending centuries arranging betrayals, experiments, political purges, and battles to serve his evolution. 189

He is also theatrical and deeply arrogant. His public declaration that he would stand “at the heavens” reflected his belief that he was destined to rise above Shinigami, Hollows, and gods alike. 190
