Background

Tang San is a transmigrator whose soul came from another world. Before his rebirth, he became a God King with the Sea God and Asura God positions, destroyed Spirit Hall, and restored both Ah Yin and Xiao Wu. Reborn as Tang Hao’s son with those memories intact, he believes he can repeat his former path with better choices and stronger soul rings. 11 310

His foreknowledge leaves him conflicted over Xiao Wu. He recognizes that many of his greatest past opportunities—including the Eight Spider Lances, high-quality soul rings, and his eventual dual godhood—depended on dangers and sacrifices involving her. He ultimately decides to retrace that path while telling himself that Xiao Wu will merely “suffer a little more.” 11

At Holy Soul Village, Tang San awakens Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power. He later reveals a second Martial Soul, the Clear Sky Hammer, restoring Tang Hao’s resolve and confirming the inheritance of both his parents’ powers. 82 84 93

Tang San becomes Yu Xiaogang’s disciple at Notting City Soul Master Academy, defeats Wang Sheng to become leader of the Seventh Dorm, and reunites with Xiao Wu shortly afterward. 89 91 93

Appearance

Tang San was originally described as ordinary-looking. The Mystic Tortoise Soul Douluo permanently alters his face, leaving him with a crooked mouth and slanted eyes. 203

  • Carries the Blue Silver Grass/Blue Silver Emperor Martial Soul, marked by golden patterns. 84
  • Wields a pitch-black Clear Sky Hammer with faint patterns around its cylindrical head. 84
  • Manifests eight black spider legs from his back when using the Eight Spider Lances. 205 209
  • Bears a Blood Sword God Mark on his neck after receiving the Asura God’s trials. 314

Personality

Tang San is composed, self-assured, and highly calculating. His memories make him view the reborn world as an easier version of his former life, allowing him to plan around known soul beasts, inheritances, hidden identities, and political events. 11 216 269

His protectiveness toward Xiao Wu is intense, but it is complicated by his willingness to pursue opportunities tied to her suffering. He reacts with fury whenever she is harmed and repeatedly vows vengeance against those he believes have humiliated or injured her. 11 205 254 257

Repeated setbacks challenge his confidence. Defeat by Lan Lan, Tian Yao, Gu Yuena, and Hua Qiang leaves him frustrated or doubtful, yet he continues to rely on his future Asura God inheritance as the foundation of his plans. 254 257 332 333

  • Limitation — Tian Yao exploits the limits of his Chaotic Cloak, preventing him from completing its sequence. 257

Soul Master Competition

After Lan Lan’s Blue Silver Emperor suppresses his Blue Silver Grass and sweeps the Shrek team, Tang San changes to the Clear Sky Hammer. He returns as a Level 53 Soul King with five Ten Thousand Year Hammer rings. 254
