Background / History

Xie Xie came from a prominent family and entered Eastsea Academy as an exceptionally talented student with symbiotic Twin Martial Souls. He initially acted cold and aloof, placed great confidence in his talent, and resisted calling Tang Wulin and Nan Fusheng friends. His actions nevertheless showed a strong sense of fairness: he objected when stronger students bullied weaker ones and stood beside Tang Wulin during the confrontation. 22 57

His early academy life repeatedly challenged his pride. Wu Changkong defeated him with a single strike, Nan Fusheng eliminated him before he could land an attack, and Gu Yue defeated him through superior elemental control. His poor endurance during weighted running also exposed a weakness beneath his speed, leaving him frustrated by the rapid growth of his peers. 18 22 23 86

After accidentally seeing Yuanen Yehui bathing, Xie Xie became involved in a work-study student brawl and received a 15,000 Contribution Point fine. Guilt over the incident—and his growing feelings for Yuanen—brought him into his Sea of Consciousness, where the dragon-like Shafulin awakened and identified himself as Xie Xie’s Martial Soul. Shafulin directed him toward fusing the Light and Shadow Dragon Daggers and gave him the motivation to pursue strength seriously. 176 177 178

Xie Xie is proud, competitive, and easily provoked by defeat. Early on, he measured himself against Tang Wulin, Nan Fusheng, and Gu Yue, often responding to setbacks with resentment or self-doubt. 18 23 86

Beneath his arrogance, he is loyal and protective of his companions. He joins team attacks without hesitation, supports Tang Wulin and Gu Yue in battle, and is willing to put himself in danger for Yuanen Yehui. 34 165 774
