Chapter 48: The End of the Adventure Activities

Everything proceeded smoothly according to Vivian's battle plan.

After Merika finished extracting the spring water, everyone lay in ambush around the area, waiting for monsters to appear.

A considerable number of monsters, and a wide variety of them, were attracted by the Magic Power Source. It was no less than the forest Shien had stayed in for ten days when he first arrived in this world. They even encountered a group of Thorn Horn Demons, the same kind Shien had completely wiped out back then. Shien felt a sense of familiarity, though it was a stretch to call it that!

That period was undoubtedly Shien's dark history, perhaps even a period of psychological trauma. So, Shien almost couldn't resist rushing out and eliminating that group of Thorn Horn Demons himself.

Unfortunately, it seemed Shien wouldn't have to.

Just as Vivian had said at the beginning, the monsters drawn to the Magic Power Source were all fighting amongst themselves for the spring water.

The scene was far more spectacular than when Tier was slaughtering the Lizardmen. Not only were various monsters spewing fire and unleashing lightning, but there was also brutal biting and tearing, making Shien feel like he was watching an unprecedentedly bizarre movie, which made him somewhat nauseous.

If he hadn't gone through those ten days in the forest, Shien felt he would have thrown up right there.

It was worth noting that the girls of Vivian's Squad were much calmer than Shien. Even the timidest among them, Lumya, watched the scene with a serious expression, completely unfazed. "Is this okay?"

Shien turned to Vivian and asked.

He was referring to letting the rhinoceros monster drink all the spring water, and then releasing it without attempting to hunt it down.

That must have meant the Magic Power Source would refill with spring water, right?

Vivian fully explained why they had camped at the foot of the mountain the previous day.

Vivian urged the horses forward, and the carriage began to move.

Upon closer inspection, the roof and cargo box of the carriage were piled high with luggage bags filled with monster materials, clearly indicating a bountiful harvest.

Shien also sat in the carriage, looking at the gradually receding Mangal Mountain Range behind him, reflecting on the end of his first adventure activity.
