When Kraft awoke from his dream, he didn't rush to create Red Queen as he usually did.
Although he could replicate the operations from the dream directly, just like he did with Haro, Kraft wasn't entirely sure what dangerous elements were embedded in the code that made Red Queen, given that she was created by the unscrupulous Umbrella Corporation to work for them.
So, even though Kraft had witnessed Red Queen's powerful network manipulation capabilities in his dream, he hadn't lost his composure. No matter how tempting it was, he had to analyze all the code first before proceeding.
Of course, he did copy the supercomputer intended to host Red Queen exactly as it was.
With Haro's assistance, analyzing Red Queen's source code wasn't as difficult as he'd imagined, though it was quite demanding on computational resources. The computer he had been using was already struggling, but that was perfect timing, as Kraft had just acquired a new supercomputer.
With a better computer and the help of the AI Haro, it still took Kraft two and a half days to fully analyze Red Queen's source code. As expected, in addition to the AI Red Queen herself, it contained some of Umbrella's experimental data and various plans. However, Kraft had already seen most of this content in his dream, so he deleted it all without hesitation.
Next was Red Queen's virtual avatar. Kraft immediately rejected the image of the little white girl. After a moment of thought, he decided to use the appearance of Dr. Dongyun from his dream.
Furthermore, judging by Red Queen's behavior in the dream, her emotional system seemed less sophisticated than Haro's, and certainly couldn't compare to Alice's. Kraft had considered adding some emotional logic to her, but ultimately decided against it.
Firstly, his technical skills weren't yet at a level where he could independently develop artificial intelligence. Forcing Haro's or Alice's emotional logic code into Red Queen's source code might lead to unpredictable outcomes.
Secondly, Red Queen's network intrusion capabilities were too powerful. Her rigid, mechanical thinking in the dream could prevent her from easily losing control. If she were to develop human emotions, and perhaps go through a rebellious phase, Kraft wouldn't have the ability to manage her.
So, he decided to leave it as it was.
Kraft typed the final line of code and solemnly pressed the Enter key.
Green data streams flowed rapidly across the screen, gradually forming the image of a cute little girl. She had golden hair, big blue eyes, but an Eastern facial structure. She wore a slightly oversized white lab coat that trailed to her ankles, and her long sleeves almost completely hid her arms, revealing only a hint of her fingers.
"Hello there, Angela."
Kraft smiled and waved at the little girl on the screen. Although he kept the codename "Red Queen" for this new AI, he hadn't deleted the name Angela because of Alice.
While Kraft would have preferred to use Dr. Dongyun's original name, "Doctor," "Hakase," or "Doctor" all sounded more like codenames than actual names, not much better than "Red Queen." So, after much consideration, he used the name of Dr. Charles's daughter from his dream.
"Hello, Kraft."
Angela on the screen wasn't as cute as Dr. Dongyun in the dream. Her little face was cold and expressionless.
"Well then... let's try testing our capabilities against Stark's AI first."
Kraft licked his lips and commanded excitedly.
"Haro, assist Angela!"
"Mission start, mission start."
Although Angela possessed superior network penetration abilities, Haro was more agile in masking information and evading pursuit. This was due to the different specializations of the two AIs. With Haro's assistance, Angela's movements would become even more elusive, and with Angela's enhancement, Haro's processing power also increased. The two complemented each other, creating an effect far greater than the sum of their parts.
"Beep beep beep—"
Tony Stark, who was sleeping in his bed with the latest issue of Playboy's cover girl in his arms, was awakened by a series of urgent alarms. He jolted upright in bed.
"What's going on! Jarvis?"
"Your network is under intrusion, Mr. Stark."
Even while dealing with Angela's attack, Jarvis didn't forget to immediately answer Stark.
"Judging by the intrusion method, it's similar to that unknown AI from before, and it's become stronger."
"You can leave now, I don't have time for you!"
Stark quickly put on his pants, tossed a stack of bills at the cover girl who had just woken up and was still confused, and then, half-naked, hurried towards his underground laboratory.
The cover girl looked at Stark, who didn't look back, in confusion. She grabbed the bills thrown at her and was about to throw them back at him. However, after holding the money by her head for a moment, she slowly put it down. Then, humming a tune, she put the money into the limited-edition bag Stark had given her yesterday before slowly getting dressed.
Tony Stark entered his laboratory and sat down in front of the computer, which Jarvis had already activated, and began typing rapidly.
"You slipped away last time, but it won't be that easy this time!"
Instead of being angry about his network being invaded, Stark felt a long-lost excitement. Thanks to Jarvis, ordinary hackers were no match for him. Even that Tidal Wave organization was caught by Jarvis as soon as they tried to infiltrate. If Stark hadn't been too lazy to bother with them, none of those guys would have escaped with the data Jarvis had stolen from their computers.
But the current situation was different. The opponent was also an artificial intelligence, just like Jarvis, and it was constantly learning and evolving. This made Stark, who had been bored by the lack of worthy opponents, feel a rare desire to compete.
Although Mr. Tony Stark confidently charged forward, reality was cruel. With the coordinated efforts of Angela and Haro, even Jarvis and Tony Stark couldn't resist.
Soon, Stark's defense network was breached by the combined efforts of Angela and Haro, and the Stark family's data repository was completely exposed to Kraft.
Normally, Stark should have immediately disconnected the network and used physical means to protect the data on his computer from intrusion. However, Kraft chose a direct invasion to test Angela's capabilities. And given Tony Stark's pride, he couldn't bring himself to use the cowardly method of disconnecting the network after being defeated head-on.
"Jarvis! Keep tracking the origin of this AI!"
Tony Stark roared with red eyes. He chose to completely abandon his own defenses and put all his strength into counterattacking.
"Mr. Stark, I must remind you that doing so will expose all the data on your computer."
Jarvis, while following Tony Stark's orders, dutifully reminded him.
"None of that matters! I must find this hidden coward!"
Stark roared.
He, Tony Stark, had never suffered such indignity in his life!
