Kraft found Wakanda's stunt disgusting.
If they had simply hidden away in their mountain valleys, keeping to themselves and creating an isolated utopia, that would have been one thing. After all, possessing something valuable made one a target, and keeping secrets was understandable. Just as Kraft didn't want the American government to know about his technological capabilities, it was a reasonable self-preservation tactic.
However, not only did they hide their own good stuff, but they also pretended to be a vulnerable group on the international stage, accepting aid from other countries. Since Vibranium was a resource Kraft needed, he couldn't be blamed for leaking this information.
Of course, Kraft would never expose things himself. Having the reputation of a gifted young genius in mechanics was enough for him; he didn't want to reveal his network skills as well.
So, the intelligence about Wakanda, after being passed around, ended up in the hands of the Tidal Wave organization.
Sending it to them directly was out of the question. While their slogans sounded impressive, Kraft didn't buy into them. Moreover, giving it to them so straightforwardly, given their habit of questioning everything, might have led to them mistaking it for deliberate provocation.
Therefore, Kraft had Angela select a few individuals from the Tidal Wave organization and, in an inconspicuous manner, gradually fed them information about Wakanda. Once their interest was piqued and they started investigating on their own, he would offer a little help from the shadows.
This, however, required time for the information to ferment. So, Kraft didn't sit idle. He continued to have Angela roam the internet, gathering information he was interested in.
This included the data banks he hadn't been able to breach before, as well as the true identities of those mysterious forces.
This time, Kraft didn't opt for a frontal assault. Instead, it was a stealthy infiltration, no shots fired.
Angela and Haro, like phantoms, visited the data banks of various major powers. However, most of the intelligence they found was unremarkable. The major powers, especially intelligence agencies like the FBI, stored mostly outdated information in their data banks. Apart from plans and deployments that required an active network connection, truly important data was likely stored separately and physically isolated.
It was in the data bank of an organization called the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division that Kraft found information about Martin Lee.
Mr. Negative, real name Martin Lee, recipient of the Medal of Freedom, a renowned philanthropist in Chinatown, boss of the Demon Gang, suspected of having a split personality, possessing special abilities, and an archenemy of the Magia Gang for unknown reasons...
Kraft scanned it briefly. The information was quite detailed, even mentioning his own name. Then he looked at the last line of the file: "Low threat level, recommend continued monitoring."
Clearly, Martin's past actions, which Kraft hadn't fully understood, had paid off at this moment.
"Alright," Kraft rubbed his nose. "I guess I'm still too green."
But... did Martin know about this Strategic Homeland... Bureau existence beforehand? Or was it just a coincidence?
Kraft recalled Martin's clumsy attempts when first using a smartphone and figured that he and his Demon Gang likely didn't have strong intelligence capabilities. Therefore, a coincidence seemed more probable. He could only conclude that Martin was indeed a master strategist, having unknowingly neutralized a threat.
However, the name "Demon Gang"... it was truly something else.
Kraft once again lamented Martin's naming ability. "Yakshas Gang" or "Yama Gang" would have been more fitting for the underground emperor of Chinatown!
While mentally critiquing his adoptive father, Kraft didn't forget to instruct Angela, "Keep a close watch on Mr. Negative's information. If he's ever in danger, notify me immediately."
Kraft pointed to the figure in the Strategic Homeland... Bureau's data bank: a person in a stylish white suit, wearing the Mind Demon Mask.
Besides Martin Lee, Kraft also had Angela keep an eye on people he was close to, such as Fatty Liao's family and Aunt May's family. After all, with the appearance of dangerous entities like the Hulk, and with so many reckless individuals conducting human experiments in secret across America, it was always better to be prepared.
Since he hadn't dreamt of anything new recently, and it would take some time for Tidal Wave to uncover the truth themselves, Kraft spent his idle hours between research by browsing the data banks of these major powers.
He had to admit, the conflicts between these major powers were quite complex. Not only did they have spies planted in each other's organizations, but their internal affairs were also far from peaceful. Members from different factions within an organization would engage in intense struggles. Sometimes, without Haro's help to sort out the logic, Kraft couldn't even understand what they were up to!
While Kraft was engrossed in his lab, happily observing the unfolding drama, the Wakanda situation was finally unearthed by members of the Tidal Wave organization.
Two members of the Tidal Wave organization uncovered the Wakanda intelligence. They almost simultaneously figured out the deception within the "poor African country," but their choices were completely different.
One member, treating the tenets and slogans of the Tidal Wave organization as gospel, immediately exposed all the evidence and data he possessed the moment he obtained the information. He not only posted it online but also sent copies to major media outlets, the presidential email, and even the United Nations and some African countries.
This action, however, put the other member in a terrible predicament. This individual had chosen to sell the data to the American military. Just as their transaction was completed, the relevant information was already spreading like wildfire. And as if to make sure everyone knew, the disseminator explicitly marked it with the Tidal Wave organization's name.
We won't discuss how this unlucky fellow would be hunted by the military later. Regardless, the entire United States, or rather, the entire world, erupted because of this data.
The information was incredibly comprehensive, covering suspicions, deductions, data comparisons, and even photographic and video evidence. Wakanda, the nation that held a golden bowl while begging for alms internationally, was completely exposed.
Now, everyone was outraged. It was one thing to not share such valuable resources, but to also take a bite out of the portions of genuinely struggling countries? Was that even human behavior?
The most indignant were likely the "old black folks" in Africa who were also waiting for international aid. To find a wealthy landlord among their fellow sufferers sharing the meager gruel? They had to spit in your face and slap you!
As a result, Wakanda was surrounded by people of the same skin color. Fortunately, their protective shields were strong enough to prevent the mob from storming in for destructive acts of venting. However, the land outside the shields was already filled with foul garbage dumped by the angry African populace.
In addition, T'Challa, the Wakandan prince studying at Oxford University, was also tracked down by the Tidal Wave organization. He then suffered a series of bullying incidents at school. The British intelligence agency, MI6, decisively took him into protective custody under the guise of protecting a foreign dignitary.
And the mastermind behind all of this had already extricated himself, his contributions hidden, his fame unacknowledged.
In the movie, Stark at this time still used a flip phone with a color screen and buttons, which was somewhat out of sync with the overall technological level. This was likely a bug caused by the filming period. Therefore, I have adjusted it and avoided creating a smartphone industry like some other Marvel fanfics.
