The days that followed were uneventful. Aside from Tony Stark fighting Colonel James Rhodes, who was wearing the Mark II, at his own birthday party and then letting him take the Mark II away, nothing major happened.
The authorities had also suppressed information about the battle inside Stark's mansion, but with Angela at his disposal, Kraft was hardly going to be kept in the dark.
"Looks like Tony Stark doesn't have much time left..."
Kraft didn't believe for a second that Colonel James Rhodes could have taken the Mark II without Tony Stark's permission. This was clearly Tony Stark's awkward way of putting his affairs in order.
Even now, Kraft still found it hard to believe that Tony Stark would throw his life away just to be a superhero. He had always figured Tony would switch to the side-effect-free Electromagnetic Device before he actually died.
Now, though, it seemed the guy really wasn't afraid of dying.
Meanwhile, Norman Osborn, who also had little time left, finally injected himself with the Enhancement Serum that had yet to pass safety testing. He knew how dangerous it was, but at least his firsthand experience would provide more experimental data that might help with future research.
The experiment was both a success and a failure. Norman Osborn survived, but it also gave rise to an evil personality. He became the Green Goblin and began wreaking havoc throughout New York.
Then he blew up Kraft's toy factory...
It wasn't just Kraft's toy factory. Some of Martin Lee's businesses were affected as well. Other major companies, including Hammer Industries, Stark Industries, Pym Technologies, and Roxxon Corporation, also came under attack from the Green Goblin. Norman Osborn didn't even spare his own company's properties.
