Background / History

Alicia is Britannia's Third Princess and Emperor Moria's daughter. She was not blind from birth; as a child, she used secret palace passages to evade etiquette lessons and play outside the palace. She eventually lost her sight and spent more than a decade largely isolated within the palace, whose rooms were adapted for her blindness. Her mother was from the East and taught her to cook. 17 21 32

At Duke Panacea's banquet, Alicia is presented as a prospective bride for Prince Ernst of the West Fran Empire. Though blind, she retains impeccable poise and can dance. She initially declines Ernst's invitation, then unexpectedly accepts Shaya's request to dance. Their conversation reveals her belief that people must accept the course of fate, in direct contrast to Shaya's conviction that fate is not absolute. 6 7

After learning of Marquis Os's supernatural resurrection, Alicia questions whether the Papacy can truly address such threats and considers seeking sorcerers instead. She connects the mysterious figure who disrupted the possession incident with the stranger from the banquet. 11
