Allen returned to the Hunter Exam after a year of training, resolved his family’s crisis, and confronted Hisoka. He defeated Hisoka and left to continue leveling in Dungeons, aiming to gain abilities strong enough to face their bosses.

• Allen awakened Nen with Lupos, strengthened his abilities through Dungeon battles, and learned that his Nen let him change matter between solid, liquid, and gas states.
• When Agostino’s auction goods were replaced with fakes, Allen confronted Marcus Cabelli and secured a deal to sell his equipment while protecting his family.
• Allen left for the Hunter Exam, met Gon, Kurapika, and Leorio, and passed the first two tests with Lupos’s help.
• Allen sparred with Chairman Netero, realized he wanted to challenge powerful opponents, and continued on to Trap Tower.
• Allen fought Hisoka on the fourth exam island, froze Hisoka’s lungs, beat him unconscious, and used the Red Dragon of Life to drain his aura for three months.
• Allen gained a Talent Point and returned to Molten Core, where he and Lupos defeated two Magma Giants before Allen chose to hunt ordinary enemies for stronger healing and status-removal abilities.

After passing the Hunter Exam, Allen trained Bodrō at Sky Arena, defeated and absorbed several Nen users, and taught Nen to Gon and Killua. He left his friends behind to face Hisoka again, defeating him but suffering from the strain of his own strength.

• Allen received his Hunter License, fought Illumi, then healed Bodrō and taught him Nen before setting off for Sky Arena with him.
• Allen advanced through Sky Arena and defeated Goz, Rikudō, and Valensa, absorbing their abilities and using the fights to strengthen himself.
• Gon and Killua reached Sky Arena, where Allen taught them Ten and arranged for Bodrō to give Gon a hard practice match.
• Gon, Killua, and Bodrō trained for two months as Allen developed his abilities, then Hisoka challenged Allen and Illumi warned him about a planned ambush.
• Hisoka told Allen that Floor Masters had joined forces against him, while Allen tasked Bodrō with recruiting fighters and preparing them to learn Nen.
• Illumi gave Allen the names of eighteen Floor Masters involved in the ambush, but Allen chose to confront them without investigating.
• Allen fought Hisoka, detected and removed his hidden gum binding, then battered him with supersonic punches until Hisoka was nearly dead.

Allen hunted the Floor Masters and dangerous wanted criminals, growing Vilnalasath and gaining new abilities while the Hunter Association recognized his power. After helping Luna and Rice avenge the Death Reporting Bird, he returned to Yorknew and prepared with Marcus Cabelli for the Phantom Troupe’s attack.

• Hisoka and Illumi watched as Allen challenged Barros, defeated him with Execution Cross, and announced that he would challenge the Floor Masters for their Nen.
• Allen and Bodrō fought the Floor Masters in the woods, killing them all, and Vilnalasath evolved after devouring their cocoons.
• Allen recruited Hisoka to help destroy the Phantom Troupe and hired Luna to locate wanted criminals, then trained with Bodrō before beginning the hunt.
• Allen killed Zebrulon and Pell, acquired their abilities, and helped prevent Pell’s poison from devastating the city, earning a one-star Hunter promotion alongside Bodrō.
• Rice and Luna asked Allen to kill the Death Reporting Bird members, and Allen used their abilities and his own to make all eight kill one another before accepting their Nen.
• Allen spent over a month hunting wanted criminals, then met Marcus Cabelli in Yorknew and offered intelligence to help him seize power while Allen handled the Phantom Troupe.

Allen manipulated the war between the Phantom Troupe and the Ten Dons, then hunted down the troupe while Hisoka and Kurapika settled their own scores with Chrollo. After the underground Auction resumed under Marcus’s control, Allen turned toward Molten Core and explained the stakes of his Nen vow to Kido.

• Allen revealed his powerful Rose of Poor to Bodrō, then infiltrated the Phantom Troupe’s meeting and learned that Chrollo planned to rob the underground Auction.
• The Phantom Troupe massacred the Auction attendees, and Allen killed Shizuku before using the deaths of her and the Shadow Beasts to provoke a war with the Ten Dons.
• Allen killed Uvogin and the Shadow Beast unit, while Chrollo pursued Neon and Bodrō helped her escape to Kurapika and Melody.
• Allen joined the Ten Dons’ hired forces with Bodrō and Fei Jie, then attacked the Phantom Troupe and killed Shalnark, Kortopi, Franklin, Nobunaga, Pakunoda, Feitan, Phinks, and Machi.
• Hisoka fought Chrollo while Kurapika bound him, then Kurapika killed Chrollo after demanding the location of the Kurta Clan’s eyes.
• Allen confirmed the Phantom Troupe’s destruction, directed Marcus to use Auction proceeds to compensate victims and repair damage, and prepared his team for Molten Core.
• Allen met Kido and explained that his Red Dragon vow would cost him everything related to Nen if he lost, while his opponent would gain it.
