Background / History

Tang Hao descended Clear Sky Sect Mountain with his elder brother Tang Xiao after the sect's alchemy books and Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng were stolen. Confident in their grandfather Tang Chen's reputation as a Level 99 Limit Douluo, Tang Hao dismissed the possibility that Spirit Hall would dare provoke the sect. 22

While searching the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect library, Tang Hao attacked Sword Douluo after mistaking him for a guilty party. His Titan Hammer strike destroyed the library, but Sword Douluo shattered Tang Hao's Nine Nines Return to One with a single full-power sword slash and severely injured him. 29

Tang Hao was known in the City of Slaughter as its previous God of Slaughter, having completed one hundred victories before leaving. 45 He later challenged Xu Xin, only to be overwhelmed by Xu Xin's evasive fighting style and Tara Form. The defeat damaged Clear Sky Sect's standing among the Upper Three Sects. 95 100

Afterward, Tang Zhan granted him two inherited Soul Bones and Tang Hao entered four years of seclusion, intending to become a Titled Douluo, marry A Jing, and restore Clear Sky Sect's reputation. 100 During a subsequent hunt for a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast, Xiong Jun defeated Tang Hao's party and forcibly fitted him with a ten-year Soul Ring and four ten-year Soul Bones. Despite their poor quality, Tang Hao reached Titled Douluo. 120 121 123

Tang Hao later learned that Toad Tang San was his biological son with A Jing. He initially denied the claim, but a blood test confirmed it. 369 370 His relationship with Tang San remained openly hostile: he struck him repeatedly, resented his existence, and ultimately tortured him after Tang San poisoned Clear Sky Sect. 371 372 380

Personality

Tang Hao is arrogant, impulsive, and heavily reliant on Clear Sky Sect's prestige. Early on, he assumed the sect's connection to Tang Chen made Spirit Hall too afraid to act against them, while Tang Xiao repeatedly had to provide the more careful analysis. 22

He is quick to answer perceived insults with violence. He threatened Yu Xiao Gang and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect with his hammer, attacked Sword Douluo without restraint, and struck both Yu Xiao Gang and Tang San when they provoked him. 27 29 286

His defeat by Xu Xin left him demoralized; by the Soul Master Tournament, he believed he could never catch up to Xu Xin and turned to drinking. 288 Nevertheless, Tang Hao remains fiercely devoted to Clear Sky Sect. The poisoning of the sect drove him to pursue Tang San with the intent to make him “wish he were dead.” 378
