Background / History

Xu Xin formed Shadow Hall as a faction built on loyalty, offering Dugu Bo treatment options for the poison afflicting him and Dugu Xin in exchange for joining. Dugu Bo accepted for his son’s sake, becoming the Hall’s Second Elder. 10 11

The organization initially remained concealed. Although it possessed dozens of Soul Douluos and Soul Sages, Xu Xin judged that it lacked the top-tier strength needed to openly contend with major factions, particularly Title Douluos. 24

The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well was transformed into a private Shadow Hall estate by Ninja Soldiers. It served as a residence, research site, and base for alchemy, cultivation, and Soul Ring hunts. 30

Shadow Hall later emerged publicly through a pill sale, sending invitations via Claw Shadow Soldiers. Its imposing structure and guarded entrance intimidated the major sects, imperial families, and Spirit Hall representatives who attended. 40

As its influence expanded, Shadow Hall recruited the Ye Family, multiple academy personnel, Bi Ji, Tang Yuehua, and Zhu Qing. 54 63 77 291 It also created Shadow Academy to cultivate future talent and began pursuing Soul Tool development after learning of the Sun Moon Continent. 61 135

Following Xu Xin’s return from the Ghost Shadow Kingdom, the Hall gained access to the Land of Trials and statues based on his nine generals. Xu Xin intended these trials to train qualified Shadow Hall students. 84

Xu Xin later reorganized the leadership: he stepped down as Hall Master, became Shadow Hall’s first Great Enshrined, and appointed Bibi Dong as the new Hall Master. 153 The original Hall was subsequently designated as Xu Xin’s private residence while a new headquarters was to be built. 154
