Background / History

Ning Fengzhi had only recently succeeded as Sect Master when Tang Xiao and Tang Hao arrived to investigate an alleged theft from the Clear Sky Sect. Despite his recent succession, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect was flourishing under his leadership. He welcomed the brothers courteously, stalled their request to inspect the sect library, and arranged an investigation into both the library and the brothers’ reasons for leaving Clear Sky Sect territory. 28

After Tang Xiao and Tang Hao were caught with sect treasures and had their Soul Power sealed, Ning Fengzhi imprisoned them and sent the Clear Sky Sect a message accusing the brothers of theft while demanding compensation. He retained Yu Xiao Gang’s Notes on Soul Master Cultivation, suspecting that the book was the reason powerful figures had sought access to the library. 30

During the Soul Master Tournament, he considered abandoning the sect and submitting to Shadow Hall pressure, but hesitated because of his personal hostility toward the organization. Ning Rongrong reported that Zhu Zhuqing had absorbed a Soul Ring without hunting a Soul Beast. Ning Fengzhi traveled with Sword Douluo to Shrek Academy, first verifying that Zhu Zhuqing was human, then trying to obtain the method behind her self-condensed Soul Ring. 211 212

He attempted to recruit Zhu Zhuqing into the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and offered to free her from the Zhu Family and Star Luo Empire. When she refused, Sword Douluo attacked her under Ning Fengzhi’s watch. 212

Zhu Zhuqing’s reference to “the second time” unnerved Ning Fengzhi, who struck Ning Rongrong to demonstrate that he was addressing the situation. Xiao Wu Sacrifice

After Xiao Wu was exposed as a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Beast, Ning Fengzhi proposed concealing her identity temporarily and eventually having her sacrifice herself for Toad Tang San. 316

He later persuaded Xiao Wu that sacrificing herself was preferable to letting other factions seize her Spirit Ring and Soul Bone, promising that the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect would protect her family. Xiao Wu accepted the arrangement and left behind a Hundred Thousand Year Spirit Ring and her Soft Bone Rabbit form. 345

Ah Rou retaliated at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. With Ah Yin preventing interference, Ah Rou defeated and severely humiliated Ning Fengzhi while reclaiming Xiao Wu. 346 347

Clear Sky Sect Crisis

Ning Fengzhi backed Toad Tang San during the conflict caused by Tang San’s poisoning of the Clear Sky Sect. Tang Zhan and Tang Hao demanded territory, resources, and further atonement; Ning Fengzhi agreed rather than abandon Tang San. 381
