Background
After the Human Emperor's death, his authority was divided and scattered, driving the Gods and Demons into a war that nearly exterminated them. A human powerhouse later gathered that authority, declared himself Heaven, and began the Heaven Era 1730.
Heaven ruled the Starry Sky for hundreds or thousands of eras. It controlled the Sun Moon and sent calamities that killed countless living beings, while its authority made opposition exceptionally difficult 1652 1662. Its Emissaries were dead powerhouses blessed by Heaven and sent to harvest strong beings, including Outsiders and Innate Gods and Demons 1004.
Heaven maintained a palace beyond the firmament, where eye-like crystals could release eyeballs into the Human World; these transformed Martial Artists into low-ranking Angel Envoys 1384. It also commanded veteran Heavenly Army units, though deploying ten at once required extensive preparation 1392.
Appearance
Heaven's complete body manifests as a flawless woman in a white palace gown, with tied-up hair and bare feet. Exotic flowers and herbs grow wherever she walks; these plants can immediately gain intelligence and become small demons 1681.
- Her most common distant manifestation is a colossal face or a face containing only a mouth and eyes 1594 1595.
- Her eyes can become the Great Sun and Moon 1618.
- Her separated organs and limbs retain independent combat ability and can take monstrous or weaponized forms 1618 1666.
- Blood, saliva, and flesh can produce exotic plants, demons, and spirits with restorative properties 1687.
- Her emergency backup body was initially formed from a head and spine, then assembled from remaining limbs and organs 1677.
Personality
Heaven is proud, cold, and deeply possessive of its authority. It views rebellion as absurd and treats former Heavens, Forbidden Zone Kings, and ordinary living beings as inherently beneath it 1618 1681. Its insistence on permanently holding authority ultimately created the Heavenly Sins linked to its downfall 1690.
Despite its usual “absolute rationality,” Heaven can become furious, fearful, and desperate when its authority or body is threatened 1618 1677. It refused to yield authority even after Chu Qing severely injured it, choosing instead to flee into decay and despair 1700.
Heaven contains conflicting consciousnesses. Its human consciousness is curious, emotional, and unusually talkative; it claims that it stopped suppressing its humanity and no longer cares whether the world survives. Its opposing consciousness is colder and regards that humanity as a defect or betrayal 1594 1595 1687.
Abilities & Skills
Heaven's Authority
Heaven's defining power is its authority over the Starry Sky and its systems.
- Controls the Sun and Moon, which can act as its eyes and weapons 1526 1618.
- Creates and directs calamities against continents and living beings 1652.
- Recalls lost blood almost instantly while its authority remains intact 1665.
- Enhances its limbs, organs, and defenses with immense restorative power 1665 1666.
- Forces others across vast distances through command-like techniques; it banished Yu Tian dozens of continents away with a single order 1681.
Analysis and Adaptation
Heaven's authority continually studies hostile methods and develops counters.
- Eyeballs growing on its limbs observe and decipher enemy killing moves 1665.
- Its organs contain changing sets of three thousand runes that repair weaknesses and alter defensive methods 1666.
- It accelerated its response to Chu Qing's Divine Abilities during battle, eventually threatening to render them ineffective 1666.
- Heaven's right hand generated lifeforms and defensive measures while attempting to counter Chu Qing's petrification Divine Ability 1666.
Heavenly Forces
Heaven creates, deploys, and empowers servants.
- Releases eyeballs that transform Martial Artists into Angel Envoys 1384.
- Uses Emissaries of Heaven—blessed dead powerhouses—to harvest Outsiders, Innate Gods and Demons, and other strong beings 1004.
- Commands Heavenly Army units, including veteran forces tempered over time 1392.
- Deliberately sent vast numbers of Angel Envoys into the Forbidden Zone, where their deaths could strengthen its creatures and intensify the Black Tide 1177.
Manifested Body and Organ Weapons
Even when divided, Heaven's body remains a battlefield-scale weapon.
- Its heart fought as a humanoid creature woven from hundreds of blood vessels 1618.
- Its intestines became the Nine Bends Killing Array, while its spine transformed into the Thirty-Three Heavens 1618.
- Its ribs became strange Demon Gods capable of wielding Earth Veins as whips 1618.
- Its stomach could dissolve even Exotic Treasures, while its lungs produced blade-like winds 1666.
- Its chest could travel at Mach 3,000 and cross continents through transmission light pillars 1673.
All Living Beings See Me!
Heaven's ultimate attack was “All Living Beings See Me!”
- Its release threatened to destroy everything around it, including Heaven itself 1686.
- Chu Qing survived the attack using thirty-three rings, then used them to sever Heaven's head 1686.
Limitations
- Heaven's authority can be weakened or removed. At one point, it admitted that it had lost its authority and both eyes: one eye had been suppressed by the Heaven-Connecting Martial Ancestor, while Gods and Demons had schemed against the other 1526.
- Chu Qing exploited structural weaknesses in its organs and runes to destroy its left hand, right hand, stomach, lungs, liver, gall, and left foot 1666.
- Its separate consciousnesses fought for control of the body, weakening it after its head was severed 1687 1688.
- Heaven's backup body could be destroyed, reconstructed, and left incomplete; even after losing its head and spine, it continued fighting but was increasingly desperate 1677 1678.
- The Heavenly God claims that Heaven's released sins were bound to it by the Mantis Martial Ancestor's imprint, making resurrection impossible unless those sins are removed 1702.
Relationships
- Chu Qing / Di Qing — Principal enemy. Chu Qing's name itself injures Heaven's spirit when it thinks of him, and he later leads the campaign that dismantles its body, severs its head, and suppresses it 1384 1666 1686 1699.
- Heaven's human consciousness — A gentler, emotional aspect claiming to be the true main body; it seeks to reclaim the body from Heaven's colder consciousness 1595 1687.
- Liuli — Enemy from across time. Liuli injured Heaven's true body through an Emissary connection and regarded successive Heavens as beings she could kill with ease 1481 1098.
- Heavenly God / Cang Shen — Described as Heaven's third son before betraying it. He claims to have released Heaven's sins and used its secrets to scheme against it 1235 1702.
- Angel Envoys and Emissaries of Heaven — Servants created, deployed, or blessed to carry out Heaven's will 1004 1177 1384.
- Old Heavens — Former holders of the Heaven position. Several oppose the current Heaven and seek its authority during the final war 1666 1681.
- Princess Di Wang — Rebel combatant who brings the Twelve Golden Men and declares her intention to destroy the current Heaven 1681.
