Background

Chu Qing began as a poor peasant, once dressed in linen and barefoot. After gaining money, he spent it on gifts for Madam Jin rather than himself, calling the gesture filial piety; she accepted him as her godson and began teaching him to write. 10 92

His early rise brought him into the Mantis Martial Arts Hall and the orbit of Stone Rock County’s Hall Masters. After saving Zhao Wuji, Zhao Hongxiu, and others, he was publicly thanked at the Immortal Fate Tower, while Shi Tiezhu began addressing him as “Brother Qing.” 23
