Background

Born into an Imperial Capital noble family, the Princess Consort became King Shiyu's wife. Her standing in the mansion was exceptionally high: King Shiyu later complained that he had to submit an application merely to enter her inner chambers. 263 495

After the Third Butler's assassination, she supplied two high-level Third Limit experts for the search for Chu Qing. When King Shiyu's son was killed, she agreed to investigate the Black Market incident while privately disdaining the king's motives. 264 274

She is an Outsider. While injured and pursued by other Outsiders, she encountered Chu Qing at Stone Ridge Mountain; he aided her because she had previously saved Madam Shi's life. The encounter began a relationship built on protection, repayment, and mutually valuable knowledge. 379 380

Appearance

The Princess Consort is most often seen in flowing white robes, with long cascading hair and striking red-and-black eyes. When using an Exotic Art, her crimson eyes are compared to ruby flames. 611 714

Initially regarded as cold and distant, she nevertheless makes exceptions for Chu Qing, dismissing her attendants so they can speak privately and allowing him to remain with her for three days while she tests his aptitude. 496 498

She is proud of her Outsider methods and enjoys displaying them, but she is also observant and pragmatic. She recognizes Chu Qing's rapid growth, warns him of threats from Outsiders, and repeatedly provides information that he cannot obtain through martial-artist channels. 497 561 682

Her ambitions can become extravagant. Upon learning of the First Illumination Person's nest, she imagines using its treasures to create Outsiders and become the “King of Outsiders,” though Chu Qing convinces her that the risk is too great. 1030 She later enthusiastically joins the Princess's rebellion after being persuaded by its “grand plans.” 752
