Background / History

Qi Xuanxuan is Qi Xiaotian's daughter and the Tianyuan Divine Sect's Saintess. Despite the protection and expectations attached to her status, she resents being controlled. Before her breakthrough into the Spirit Gathering Realm, she secretly leaves the sect to find needed resources herself; her four personal maids, Qin, Qi, Shu, and Hua, are sent to retrieve her. She intends to enter the Thirty-Three Peaks Martial Arts Tournament and confront Fu Jiahao there 11.

In the Tianyuan Mountain Range, Qi Xuanxuan saves Han Fei from a level-nineteen Jade Scale Snake Demon and collects its gall bladder for alchemy. She and Han Fei later spend the night discussing Earth and the Tianyuan Divine Sect's disciple system, establishing an early friendship 11 12.

During the tournament, Qi Xuanxuan faces Han Fei while at the first level of the Spirit Gathering Realm. She tries to make him concede rather than let him pursue Fu Jiahao, restraining her attacks to avoid killing him. Han Fei ultimately defeats her after breaking through mid-match; the battle leaves Qi Xuanxuan exhausted enough to faint 22 24.

She enters the Inner Court as a core disciple alongside Han Fei. During the entrance assessment, her unnecessary use of spiritual energy to keep snake blood off herself leaves her depleted and injured against a Frost Giant Ape. Han Fei intervenes, defeats three level-twenty-one Frost Giant Apes, and carries the unconscious Qi Xuanxuan into the Inner Court 29 31.

After three years, Qi Xuanxuan reaches the fourth level of the Spirit Gathering Realm, surpassing Han Fei's cultivation at the time. Yet she remains lonely on Tongtian Peak, saying she has no friends there and that her father has rarely had time for her 32.

Personality

Qi Xuanxuan is proud, strong-willed, and deeply resistant to the restrictions imposed by her identity. She wants to obtain her own resources, confront her own enemies, and avoid relying on her father's status or protection 11.

Her care for Han Fei is genuine in their early relationship. She warns him against risking his future with a Spirit Gathering Pill, gives him a sword sheath, accepts his help after the Inner Court assessment, and asks him to remain with her when she awakens 23 28 31. However, her feelings become entangled with jealousy, sect loyalty, and resentment toward Cheng Mengyao.

Qi Xuanxuan can be ruthless when she believes mercy is undeserved. After Han Fei spares surviving rebels, she pursues them herself, causing a serious conflict between their ideals 39. Their battle establishes both their mutual respect and their future emotional conflict 22 24.

Inner Court Training

After passing the Inner Court assessment with Han Fei's intervention, Qi Xuanxuan trains for three years and reaches the fourth level of the Spirit Gathering Realm. Her isolation on Tongtian Peak strengthens her reliance on Han Fei as one of her few meaningful connections 30 32.

Conflict with Han Fei and Cheng Mengyao

Qi Xuanxuan's differences with Han Fei surface during the mission against He Xiong's rebels, where she rejects his mercy. Her later jealousy of Cheng Mengyao escalates into direct conflict, while Han Fei becomes increasingly disappointed by her choices 39 61 66 74.

Black Stone and Shura Island

After disappearing from the Tianyuan Divine Sect, Qi Xuanxuan returns as a Black Stone cultivator. She confronts Han Fei on Shura Island, refuses to abandon Black Stone, and continues wielding the Dragon Slaying Sword Technique against him 164 166.

Ice-Fire Palace

Qi Xuanxuan brings Han Fei into the Ice-Fire Palace, absorbs the Fire Source, and reveals that she intends to kill him, take his power, and free herself from Black Stone's control. Her assassination fails because Han Fei uses the Four-Aspect Body to substitute a clone. In their final battle, she unleashes Demonic Qi and is beheaded by Han Fei 182 186 187.
